Forney ISD Fine Arts invites you to a special celebration of creativity and community at Empty Bowls Night, happening at The OC on Thursday, October 30 from 6–8 PM.

***Traffic Stop in Scurry Leads to Major Drug Arrest***

On Friday, September 26, 2025, at approximately 12:11 p.m., a Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Interdiction Deputy conducted a traffic stop on a maroon Chevrolet Malibu at FM 148 and Highway 34 in Scurry, Texas.
The driver was identified as Bridgette Lynn Glover, 58, of Kemp, Texas. A Kaufman County Sheriff’s K-9 Unit arrived to assist and conducted an open-air sniff of the vehicle. The K-9 alerted to the odor of narcotics, giving deputies probable cause to search.
During the search, deputies located approximately 550 grams of methamphetamine and 68 grams of ma*****na. Glover was taken into custody and charged with Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG 1 over 400 grams, a First-Degree Felony.
Kaufman County Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Investigators obtained a search warrant for Glover’s residence in Kemp. Investigators seized 130 additional grams of methamphetamine, packaging materials, and digital scales. Glover was charged with an additional First-Degree Felony for Manufacture/Delivery of a Controlled Substance PG 1 (4–200 grams).
Glover is currently being held at the Kaufman County Jail on a $700,000 bond.
Glover was out on bond from an October 2024 case, in which the Kaufman County Narcotics Unit executed a search warrant at Glover’s residence, where approximately 485 grams of methamphetamine were seized before this most recent arrest.

Domestic violence is a serious issue and one that the Forney community is affected by. The number of cases the Forney Police Department has either investigated or made an arrest in has dramatically increased recently. Comparing the cases from 01/01/2024-10/01/2024 and 01/01/2025-10/01/2025, there has been an increase of 52% of cases and or arrests.

We, as a Department, will continue to protect and support the victims of domestic violence. If you are ever in a domestic violence situation, please call 911 immediately or text if you are unable to make a phone call. Officers will be dispatched to your location. You are not in this alone!

Forney High School will host its Homecoming Parade in Downtown Forney on Saturday, October 4, at 9:00 a.m. The event will impact several streets in the Downtown area. If you are not attending, please plan ahead for traffic delays or consider an alternate route.
