The chosen one frequently has that "first" role.
Being the "chosen one" in your family doesn't always have a label or obvious indication. However, it frequently manifests itself in how your life turns out, the amount of responsibility you bear, and how other people look to you for support, strength, or direction.
The following indicators may help you determine whether you are your family's chosen one:
1. You Break the Curses of Generations
It's you who shifts unhealthy behaviors, heals old wounds, and does the work that others couldn't or didn't do before you. You're establishing a new benchmark, whether it's by education, emotional recovery, or simply choosing a different route.
2. You Bear the Burden
People rely on you. You find the strength to show up for your parents, siblings, and your own children even when you're exhausted. You may feel like the rock even if no one says it aloud.
3. You Have a Different Perspective
You ask questions, whereas others might go with the flow. You desire more for everyone around you, not just for yourself. You have a deeper and wider view.
4. People Frequently Misunderstand You
Selected ones are often separated. Even inside your own family, people may not always understand you. Although it might be isolating, this feeling of "otherness" frequently carries a higher purpose.
5. Your inner compass is strong.
You usually know what is right, even when it's difficult. Something greater than yourself—faith, intuition, and purpose—is guiding you.
6. You Take Initiatives First
First to graduate, first to relocate, first to launch a business, first to attend therapy, first to speak truth to power, or first to honestly discuss mental health.
