Good morning! Today on the Morning Show Interview, Richard talked to Fred Leonard, with the Arkansas Imagination Library, an extension of Dolly Parton’s global Imagination Library initiative which began in Sevier County, Tennessee. Leonard is not only the local partner for Crittenden and St. Francis Counties but currently serves as board vice-chair for the Arkansas Imagination Library and as served as board chairman in the past.
Leonard explained local partners for the Imagination Library encourage local fundraising, as well as enrollment for children. It cost’s less than $3 per month to send a book to a child enrolled in the program. Enrollment is free and the program serves children to birth to five years old, helping children and families spend time together reading and also preparing children for school with early exposure to literacy. Leonard said enrolling your child before leaving the hospital should start building a collection of nearly 60 books by the time they start school. Leonard said while the entire organization is saddened by Dolly’s passing, there has been a recent surge in both enrollment and partner support since her death.
Today’s trivia question was this: This common item can cause household accidents.
The answer: rugs

Good morning! Today on the Morning Show Interview, Richard spoke with Collin Hill, Lee County farmer with Hill and Hill Farms near Moro. Collin said, while farmers have faced a lot of challenges this year, Hill and Hill is fairing well at the start of this year’s harvest and they hope other area farmers are yielding similar results.
Hill explained, with most of their rice harvest cut, they were luckier than they expected after rains this spring. While farmers have faced drastic temperatures here in the latter part of the growing season and beginning of harvest, Collin said he expects the heat will dry corn out just in time to start harvesting next, followed by soybeans, which many farmers planted more of this year due to input costs.

Good morning! Today on the Morning Show Interview, Richard wrapped up our Coaches Highlight series, featuring the area coaches for the teams we will be broadcasting on Friday nights this season. This morning, Richard talked with Brandon Wilkins, Forrest City Mustang football coach about heading into the first game in his second season with the Mustangs. He said confidently, he has “no nerves” about tonight’s game against Clinton. Wilkins explained he came to the Mustangs seeing a lot of talent on the field, but after his first full off-season with the team, there is a trust in the coaching staff that gives the players a lot of confidence. He said tonight’s game will be about placing players where there talents are highlighted best, and letting them do what they know how to do.
Best wishes to all of our regional teams tonight! The Lee Academy Cougars, the Palestine-Wheatley Patriots, and of course the Forrest City Mustangs! Let’s play some football!

Good morning! Today on the Morning Show Interview, Richard continued our Coaches Highlight series, featuring the area coaches for the teams we will be broadcasting on Friday nights this season. This morning, Richard talked with Tyler Paschal with the Palestine-Wheatly Patriots, who will be facing Des Arc this week. Paschal gave great praise to the Eagles as a challenging team with a long tradition of running the ball. He said the Patriots will have Des Arc’s proven back field on their radar during the game, but he has seen a lot of growth in his team over the last three years as head coach and he has already seen a lot of grit and talent in his Patriots during this year’s preseason.
