An advisory committee has been named to assist in the search for the next chancellor at the University of Arkansas-East Arkansas Community College.
Current UA-EACC Chancellor Cathie Cline, Ed.D., announced in August her plans to retire July 1 after more than 25 years of service to the institution.
Chris Thomason, vice president for strategic and community college partnerships for the UA System, is leading the search for the UA System President’s Office and will coordinate the recommendation of a short list of final candidates cultivated by the committee for US System President Jay B. Silveria to consider before ultimately making his recommendation to the Board of Trustees of the University of Arkansas for final approval.
The 14-member search committee includes key members of the campus community, alumni, and regional education, business and municipal leaders from the campus’s service areas. To keep interested parties, the campus and community up to date, UA-EACC will also launch a search web page that will be updated with news regarding the search and the process.
Members of the search committee include Judge Ann Hudson and Dr. Florine Milligan, members of the college’s board of visitors; UA-EACC Foundation Board members Anna Howton, director of marketing and communications at Woodruff Electric and Michelle Wilson, retired vice president of academic affairs; Ty Griffin, Wynne Economic Development Commission; Ed Adams, UA-EACC Associate Vice President for Computer Services; Pete Cross, UA-EACC Director/Instructor of Workforce Training; Sam Harris, UA-EACC Human Resources Support Analyst; Yolanda Smith, UA-EACC Humanities Instructor and Academic Advisor; Jerry Stegall, UA-EACC Director of Recruiting and Student Activities and Christine Williams, UA-EACC Dean of Career and Technical Education.
Three area superintendents will also serve on the committee. They include Dr. Tiffany Hardrick, Forrest City School District; Ryan Halbert, Palestine-Wheatley School District and Dr. Kenneth Moore, Wynne School District.
Members of the advisory committee’s non-voting leadership staff include Thomason, UA System Search Lead; Anne Kelso, UA-EACC Assistant to the Committee, and Lindsay Midkiff, UA-EACC Search Communications Coordinator.
Thomason said the hope is for finalists to be named in late spring. Once finalists are named, campus visits will be organized for each individual and public forums held to keep students, faculty, staff and the public informed.

We want to sincerely thank our community for your patience, your understanding, and your continued trust. Our top priority is and will always be the safety of our patients and their babies. We make diversion decisions carefully and only when it is the safest option for those who may need care.

We appreciate you supporting your local hospital as we work every day to provide compassionate, quality care!
