Practicing What I Preach 🤍

If you’ve been around here for a while, you know how much I believe in the phrase, “Taking care of you is taking care of your business” – and that’s exactly what I’m doing.

This year has been full of challenges and significant (yet behind-the-scenes) decisions in my business, leaving me feeling burnt out, confused, and unsure of the next steps.

Instagram is an incredible tool, but I need to step back to figure out how it fits best into my life and business going forward.

This decision wasn’t easy, and I’ve been intentionally avoiding it because I’m going to miss you all so much! This will be the longest I’ve ever been away from IG.

Practice makes progress.

This is a hard concept for many of us, right?

I am a recovering perfectionist who obsesses over meeting an unspoken standard that I only have set for myself. But, unfortunately, this isn’t too helpful when trying to show up regularly online.

No, this does not mean you shouldn’t put the effort in; it just means that sometimes obsessing over making a post perfect is actually more harmful than helpful.

And if you really think about it, your community doesn’t want perfection from you.

So, post those drafts, leave the carousel up with the minor typo, and just accept that you showed up for yourself and your biz regardless of what that inner critic is saying.

JUNE WHERE DID YOU GO!?

Truly, can someone plz explain to me how this month is already (almost) over!? This month was full of the unexpected –– moments of pure joy, and literal shock, let’s get into it ↓

☼ Stephen (my husband) was hit head-on going through a light in a busy intersection here in foco, thankfully he was able to walk away from it, he’s definitely still healing but so grateful that he is okay!!!

☼ SOOOOO much pool time, anytime I can fit in an hour or two in the sun you know I’m taking advantage

☼ Finished ACOMAF and Started ACOWAR and omgeeeee y’all were so right this series is SO good

☼ It’s the best time of year because Love Island is back – who else is watching!?

☼ MY SISTER HAD HER BABY - he is perfect

☼ While my sister was in labor and having bb #2 I got to spend a few days one on one with my nephew Beckett which was such a blast and definitely the highlight of my month

☼ Hair refresh with my guuuurl

☼ Date night and had the best guacamole at a new restaurant here

☼ Saw Inside Out 2 and literally wept

☼ Our house finally got painted and started making plans for some house projects!!

☼ Celebrated ‘Wife Day’ (we do a husband day / wife day on our half birthdays!)

This was definitely an ~out of routine~ month, but we did it with minimal tears, go me!!!!

STEAL MY BATCHING SCHEDULE ↓

If you don’t have a day(s) to prep on the calendar, chances are it isn’t going to happen – prioritize it! I prep my content monthly, so I do my batching over a few days to spread it out, here’s what that looks like:

Ideation: I start by outlining my post topics and organizing them in Trello my project management tool.

Visualization: Next, I lay out my grid view in Planable, incorporating color blocks for graphics or selecting photos that align with my post topics.

Content Creation: I craft my carousels, reels, or any other content formats I’ve planned using Canva

Caption Crafting: With the visuals in place, I write captivating captions that resonate with my audience utilizing Planable’s AI caption writing tool when needed!

Finishing Touches: I add hashtags, locations, and tags as needed, then schedule everything seamlessly using Planable.

THE BEST MONTH YET

If y’all have been keeping up with the other photo dumps then you know this year has been a lot to put it lightly.

But, this month I prioritized time at home, saying no, and rest and honey was it NEEDED! Let’s break it down ↓

☼ spring dinner party with the sweetest girls

☼ picked the color we are going to paint the exterior of our house!!!!

☼ organized my little heart out

☼ Got back into yin yoga

☼ Started taking NAPS (the biggest plot twist of all? iykyk)

☼ Playdate and pictures with the cutest child on the planet (my nephew)

☼ Created a morning and evening rhythm that I am simply obsessed with

☼ Ate 5 bags of chilie lime chips from Trader Joes

☼ Started doing daily breathwork from ’s breath channel (highly recommend)

☼ celebrated 6 years of marriage (feeling old!!)

☼ self care day and sauna at my fav

☼ saw fall guy and loved it hahahaha

☼ Celebrated ’s graduation

☼ finished ACOTAR and started ACOMAF

☼ had the juiciest breath work session with my dear friend

☼ cute cooking date with Stephen to prep meals for my sister when she’s postpartum

This month was much needed, and I am SO thankful to my past self for sticking to my boundaries which allowed space for such a sparkly month! SLAY
