It’s time!! We saw the behind the scenes and now it’s officially time to experience the Garden of Lights at

We have already been twice since it opened last week! 🫣🎄

A few of our favorite things are the two new experiences this year, the gumdrop forest and the ice queen! The gumdrops make a color changing forest it is so much fun for both kids and grown ups. It adds a new element to the lights that feels different from a typical holiday lights displays.

And of course the Ice Queen was a hit with our kids who just wanted to see her “let it go”

The new exhibits were extra fun this year but the amazing lights, hot chocolate and live music are amazing! And you can’t miss Mr. Ho Ho Ho himself 🧑🏾‍🎄🎅🏾🤶

Another amazing program we learned about this year is the Gardens for all program. Receive SNAP benefits? Well you can grab tickets for $1 by giving them a call or buying tickets in person, just make sure to have your SNAP card with you.

There was a time I couldn’t tell you what a Third Space was, and there was a time I was hyper-focused on creating one. I have settled somewhere in the middle by highlighting the amazing people who are creating Third Spaces within Northern Colorado!

As we look for third spaces in Northern Colorado, one truth stands out: one is already here, rooted and brewed right here in our community.

This series has been 10 years coming, not that we have been making it for 10 years but that Ben has dreamed of having the connections, time and avenue to create something about the beauty and uniqueness of the Colorado craft beer industry for 10 years. When we got married in 2015 the theme of our wedding was “Love is Brewing” and all our center pieces were growlers collected from our favorite breweries, craft beer has always been a part of our relationship.

So now a decade later getting to step into the craft beer world in a tiny way and use the skills and community we have built to tell a small part of this story feels personal and full circle.

It’s almost time for one our favorite holiday traditions! The Gardens of Lights the and this year we got a little sneak peak of what it takes to put on this amazing light show each year!

Did you know there are over 250,000 lights making up the display?

The caterpillar is one of our favorite displays each year and we are so excited to check out the new displays in full effect when they open next week!

Pro tip: go early in the month, nights between December 21st and 28th tend to sell out faster so grab your tickets early or plan to go the first couple weeks!

This year Garden of Lights runs nightly from December 12th- 28th (except the 24th and 25th) from 5:00-8:00 pm (park will be cleared at 9:00 pm)

What a small mindset shift can do to help us shop local all year long? I know so many of us want to support our local community but often feel stuck with where to start, what businesses are out there and what do they sell. NOCO truly has so many amazing local businesses where you can find everything you need while keeping money right here, and helping a small business owner do a happy dance.

As small business owners Ben and I see every like, share, order and new business partnership personally and we have had many happy dances of our own because each one is a simple show of faith and love for our local community.

We know this is a tiny percentage of the amazing local NOCO businesses, this is not meant to be a comprehensive guide but rather a way to jump start our thinking so that this season and every season to remember why and how to support each other. Because local supporting local has always and I believe will always be the thing that pushes our communities forward.
