sneak peek Angel 27
Rose slowly sat up and looked at me and said, “I’ll walk you out.” I said, “Goodnight” to Donna, and then Rose and I walked out to the front porch.
As we stepped out, she said, “Just stay for a little while longer. I’m not ready to let you go yet” and gave me a big hug. She seemed to be holding on to me like something was going on, something just felt different. After ten minutes she raised her head and looked at me and her eyes gave off a shine like the stars in the night sky. Then with a more serious look, she softly spoke, “I love you Jimmy, I will forever.” I looked into her eyes and smiled and softly said, “I love you to Angel forever and always.” She smiled warmly and then lowered her head back against my chest. We stood there for a little longer just holding onto each other.
Then she said, “Promise me you’ll call me or come over to see me tomorrow.” “Yes, I promise, if I don’t work, I’ll be here, but if I do, I promise, I’ll call you!” Then she looked up at me again and said, “I love you” again then she kissed me. I knew when she said she loved me, that she did, but this time the kiss was different. This time she kissed me on the lips and that one kiss said, beyond forever! At that point, I knew I could never love anyone as much as I loved her. I knew deep in my heart, that she would be my one and only forever. No matter what happened after this night, this was the one moment that would change us forever! Once again, she put her head down into my chest. I could feel her heart beating against my chest. This one moment had brought all new deeper feelings of love for Rose and it was running through my body like a wildfire. I felt like I was on top of the world. A king and she was my queen and my only future. I wanted to tell her what I was feeling, but then she looked up into my eyes. I knew she already knew exactly what I was feeling! No words could ever describe or replace what we were both feeling between that innocent kiss. She said, “I still wish you didn’t have to go, and you could just stay here with me.” I took a breath, “I know, I feel the same way, but hopefully, someday soon, we won’t have to say goodbye at night, just goodnight.” I could feel a weird tingling feeling like electricity between us and my stomach was like ten million butterflies flying around. My feelings for her were always strong, but now it was like they were in overdrive. I said,” As much as I don’t want to go, I think I should probably get going.” She said, “I know, I don’t want you to go either, but if you must then I guess you have too!” She looked up at me then I opened the door for her. She gave me what I can only explain as an electrifying hug. Then once again, she kissed me on the lips. It was like sparks or something was shooting through me. I smiled and said, “Rose, if you do that again, I might not be able to leave and go home.” She smiled, “Ok, I’ll be nice.” She gave me a very soft kiss and a hug, then looked at me with those amazing eyes and said, “You promise to call or come over tomorrow, right?” A little disoriented I said, “Um yeah…” then cleared my throat, “I mean yes, yes, yes I do.”
Then she smiled and said, “Ok Jimmy," then took a look around and said, "please be careful it’s pretty dark out tonight.” “Ok Angel I will, I promise.” I walked over and got on my bike which seemed more like floating than walking. I put my headphones on. I looked over at the house and she was still standing in the doorway. I waved, and she waved back. Even in the dark, I could see the shine in her eyes and the smile on her face. I got ready to move, but then put my kickstand back down and walked back over to the door. She stepped out and I caressed the left side of her face. This time I kissed her and as we stood there the rest of the world just seemed to disappear. I could feel her heart pounding just as hard as mine, and in that moment, I seen into a future of beyond forever. I picked her up and whispered I love you now and beyond forever!” She smiled and hugged me tightly, “Me too Jimmy, me too, forever!” Once again, I opened the door for her and softly whispered, “Night," as I caressed her face once again. She seemed a little dazed, but then said, “Night….” then I turned and put my headphones on. I turned on my Walkman and a band called Journey, was singing a song called Faithfully. It was perfect, I got on the bike then turned. Rose was still standing by the door. I waived and then pointed to my heart then at her. She waved back and did the same, then I turned and rode off into the night.
