We agreed when we separated that getting the official divorce was never top of the list, since we decided to continue to live together and raise our children, there was no real rush.

And eventually we both realized it was time.

So we went the online meditation route, it was simple and fit our needs. We discussed everything together, and here we are on the other side of it all.

Proud of us, the beautiful family we’ve created and the life we continue to create and model for our children.

I almost failed at day 3 out of 30 of my plan to post everyday 🤣 whenever I post an all dolled up selfie, I always like to counterbalance it with a no makeup selfie because it’s really easily to forget that the perfect lighting and full face of makeup can make bend our perception of reality.

So here is my pre-period skin, and I’ve been on the hunt for deodorant that doesn’t make me smell like sweaty flowers and we decided to have ice cream before dinner tonight, and then they proceeded to eat their entire dinner only a couple minutes later.

Oh and those matching cloud jammies from target—my literal favorite thing to sleep in. Bought my bestie and SIL one for their birthdays. Too good to gate-keep.

When they said, “Do it tired. Do it scared.” I’m pretty sure they were talking about leaving your kids and going out on date night.

We went to and easily best view in the city and they play some pretty sweet tunes too.

And yes, those were mocktails from their menu. I see more and more places doing it, it sometimes feels like overpriced adult juice. 🧃 But it’s fun to taste.

You can see (and probably feel) the difference between the first two photos.

I used to be so hard on myself when I wasn’t feeling creative enough or social enough.

Then I heard someone talk about syncing their workflow with their flow, and it all just clicked.

They say women are of the moon, and men are of the sun. We move through a 28–30 day cycle, like the moon. Men reset every 24 hours, like the sun.

That’s why I decided to get a moon tattoo — it’s a reminder that everything comes in phases. The good, the bad and the ugly.

Even when I feel like I am less, I know my body and mind just needs more. When creativity shifts into another mode, I just let myself be and trust that the cycle will continue.

If you’re still in the process of figuring it out, don’t worry, it takes time — I didn’t fully grasp it until later in life—but it’s never too late to tune into yourself.

Periods have always been some weird sort of taboo topic, but our hormones control everything. Talking about our experiences can only make it better.
