✨ Living in Arkansas for a year was a blessing low key…it really taught me to enjoy everything the natural state has to offer.

I lived in Little Rock, Arkansas (the capital) and I honestly can say for such a fast moving east coaster who knew nothing about the state (except The Little Rock Nine & Bill Clinton ), I most certainly enjoyed the serenity of this state’s nature.

It’s also where Amber Sandiego, my blog, was created. What I thought was a little escape from an ending relationship ended up really being a huge blessing as I continued my passion for travel & good cuisine. 😌


📌Did you know The Junction Bridge rests on top of ”the Little Rock” and was used as territorial passing for Native Americans & settlers? They had been there thousands of years before Europeans due to available archeological evidence right here in this very city. Also, The Arkansas River was used by early river traffic as a landmark and became a famous river crossing of that era in the 1880s. The history in that state is intriguing and insane.

✨ I enjoyed living downtown around everything because I’m still a city girl, but I definitely can say I miss random walks to the bridges, markets, museums & libraries around town. I also miss the friends I’ve made along the way. Will definitely post more food content there soon because baby that state can eat! Time to make my return trip!

Happy New Year Sandiego Tribe! 🎉🫶🏾

Spent the end of 2024, traveling for my 38th birthday in December (♐️), working and grinding into the New Year!

As some of you may know I work in a fine dining steakhouse as a bartender when I’m not traveling or exploring hidden foodie gems. 🍷🍸

Morton’s Steakhouse, originating from Chicago, Illinois has the perfect ambience & the food is delicious! They carry steak & seafood options! They are also veggie, gluten free and soy free options. Working in hospitality for over a decade has definitely refined my taste buds and only enhanced my love for even more food. 😌

🍎 *WHY I LOVE NEW YORK*
You never need a filter in The Big Apple because the city is already raw. 😉

🗽 I like to resurface this throwback when I felt empowered in “The City That Never Sleeps”. Being from New York State myself the aura of the city just brings you a sense of strength whenever you step into it.

🍝 You can literally find every kind of food possible in NYC and that is why it’s my favorite city in the USA.

Mexican Indian
Japanese Turkish
Moroccan French
Soul Food Thai
Greek Nigerian
Lebanese Peruvian
Argentinian Brazilian
Just to name a few. 😉

Nothing beats a bagel, a hot dog, a slice of pizza at a small joint or a deli sandwich at your local bodega though! 🥪🌭🥯🍕

🌎 I absolutely LOVE meeting people from all over the world and every time I’m there I do just that! The amount of diversity throughout each borrough is endless!

📝 Most common misconception: New Yorkers are mean. I disagree with this! New Yorkers are just direct. Need to ask a question? Ask directly. The reality is the city is constantly on GO and New Yorkers are straight to the point, but if you ask for directions or need help finding the right train, someone will usually help you. Can’t be scared in a LARGE, fast paced city like this, so just try it & you’ll feel a little more courage after doing so. Promise!

📚 Fun Fact About Me: I also started learning Spanish in New York at six years old. Yo entiendo español mucho cuando hablando tengo miedo a veces y yo no se por que. Hablo Spanglish on the daily though. 😂 (hit me up for translation unless tu comprendes)

Took a 48 hour trip to Tampa via to see one of my best friends from college & help with her move and we always have a cute little time.

My Jalapeño Cucumber Margarita from Vudu Tacos & Fish and Chips from Maloney’s Irish pub were yummy. 🩷

Recommend Amtrak from Fort Lauderdale To Tampa and back was about $40 or less one way. Blend Lounge was cute for a couple drinks too. 🚂

Umm why did I absolutely love the calmness of Santa Fe Lake Park in Melrose, FLorida? Went boating with my best friend from hs during her baby shower weekend and man it was such a relaxing experience! The trees were my favorite. 😍🌳
