The Lucerne Festival is Switzerland’s largest classical music festival. This year it is a grand and exciting event under the theme “Open End” and is held from August 12 to September 14.

This year’s edition is dedicated to the final summer festival under Executive and Artistic Director Michael Haefliger, who has been at the helm of the festival since 1999. About 120 events are planned within the framework of the festival, including the premiere of Mahler's 10th Symphony, 27 symphony concerts, solo performances, chamber music, family evenings and concerts. Among them are "40 Minutes", "On the Streets" and a performance by a symphony orchestra on the lake shore.

Resident composer Marco Stroppa will delight the audience with new works in a duet with famous "etoile artists" Winnie Huang and Tabea Zimmermann. One of the highlights will be the European debut of Ark Nova, an inflatable mobile concert hall created by Anish Kapoor and Arata Isozaki. From September 4 to September 14, 35 interdisciplinary performances in the format of short musical numbers will take place in this unusual space.

The festival will also mark the centenary of Pierre Boulez's birth. In honor of this event, a special series "Boulez's Cosmos" will be released, which explores his views on composition as an ever evolving and never-ending creative process.

L**h Classic Festival, AUSTRIA. In 2025, the L**h Classic Festival offers an opulent and varied programme with internationally renowned vocal and instrumental soloists on seven concert days, accompanied by the L**h Festival Orchestra, consisting of young professional musicians from leading Central European orchestras.

Since 2024, the concerts have been taking place in the architecturally and acoustically outstanding L**hwelten. Every year, the virtuoso performances delight an international audience that appreciates the intimate setting of the festival.

This year’s L**h Classic Festival features exquisite performances ranging from Mozart’s chamber works and Viennese classical gems to Nordic symphonic landscapes and semi-staged opera. Highlights include the sparkling “Opening Gala”, the evocative “Nordic Evening” showcasing Grieg and Sibelius, and a rare presentation of Mozart’s Die Entführung aus dem Serail.

Salzburg, often called Stage of the World, transforms into the epicenter of music, opera and theatre during one of the world’s most enjoyable and culturally significant events of the year, the 2025 Salzburg Festival. It runs from July 18 to August 31 with over 79 performances across 29 venues which celebrate the transformative power of “listening” through opera, concerts, theatre, and open rehearsals designed to foster connection in our digital age.
The programme includes new productions Handel’s Giulio Cesare in Egitto, Donizetti’s Maria Stuarda, and Verdi’s Macbeth, all exploring themes of power and human struggle. Iconic works such as Jedermann unfold on the Cathedral Square, while monumental venues — the Großes Festspielhaus and Felsenreitschule — serve as breathtaking backdrops for the spectacular showcase.

MUNICH OPERA FESTIVAL 2025. The Festival continues a rich tradition dating back to 1875, when the first “Festive Summer” was held. Under the direction of General Manager Serge Dorny, the festival returns in 2025 with a powerful lineup that unites the season’s new productions. Among the highlights are two opera premieres: a fresh staging of Mozart’s Don Giovanni and Fauré’s Pénélope, making its long-awaited debut at the Bayerische Staatsoper.
The 2025 festival explores the transformation of myth over time. Works like Dido and Aeneas, Erwartung, and Pénélope draw directly from the epic of the Trojan War, while Strauss’ Die Liebe der Danae reimagines stories from ancient Greek mythology. Dvořák’s Rusalka offers a Slavic take on mythic storytelling, and Wagner’s Lohengrin and Das Rheingold bring Germanic and Nordic legends to life. The festival also features Opera for All, broadcasting Don Giovanni live on Max-Joseph-Platz, along with chamber concerts, lieder recitals, baroque performances, and new ballets including SPHÄREN.03 | León & Lightfoot, La Sylphide, Romeo and Juliet, and Onegin.

ALICE (in wonderland): from Hong Kong to Singapore. On February 21, 22 and 23, a portal to the rabbit hole will open at the luxurious Esplanade Theatre on the shores of Singapore Bay. Hong Kong Ballet will bring its colorful and fantastic production of Septime Webre's ALICE (in wonderland), which reinterprets the classic Lewis Carroll’s fairy tale in the year of the 160th anniversary of its publication.

About the Ballet
The ballet ALICE (in wonderland) is a fascinating work in which dance, theater and puppetry are boldly intertwined. Together with almost a hundred talented children from Singapore, Hong Kong Ballet will take the audience on a thrilling, bursting with energy and imagination adventure which promises exhilarating fun for all ages.

Artist Information
Since its founding in 1979, Hong Kong Ballet (HKB) has established itself as a world-class professional troupe reflecting the unique spirit of Hong Kong. HKB's 50 talented dancers from all over the world delight the audience with both classical and neoclassical masterpieces, as well as original ballets created specifically for this troupe. The ballet actively collaborates with leading contemporary choreographers, including its president, Hu Song Wei Ricky, and also supports young Hong Kong choreographers. HKB continues to represent Hong Kong culture internationally, including recent performances in Europe, the United States, and Asia, with a particular focus on promoting its art in mainland China and the West.

Music of Survival: A Profound Musical Tribute at CARNEGIE HALL.
On February 24, 2025, the historic Stern Auditorium at Carnegie Hall will resonate with a powerful tribute to resilience and artistry.
New York City Opera proudly presents Music of Survival, a program that explores the enduring human spirit through the universal language of music created by two Holocaust Survivors.

The program begins with two rarely heard gems from Holocaust survivors Mieczysław Weinberg and Erich Wolfgang Korngold, written in the wake of all they endured: the New York premiere of Weinberg's Fantasy for Cello and Orchestra, Op. 52, and Korngold's Cello Concerto in C Major.
After intermission, the program continues with the U.S. premiere of Gennady Rovner's Metamorphosis Symphony, echoing that same enduring spirit for the 21st century.
Led by Maestro Constantine Orbelian, the New York City Opera Orchestra will be joined by soprano Elizaveta Ulakhovich and acclaimed cellist Kristina Reiko Cooper, whose masterful performances breathe life into the deeply moving musical pieces.

Based on Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s classic novella, this operatic adaptation by Rachel Portman (composer) and Nicholas Wright (librettist) transforms the journey of a young prince who travels the universe gaining wisdom into a breathtaking musical experience.
