When you lose your sense of direction, it can be frightening. No. It can be terrifying.
You feel disconnected. You look for the light but don't see it. You feel numb. You scroll through videos. Nothing. Emptiness. Everyone looks like they've got it together except for you.
The truth is that everyone gets lost. It's a normal part of life. What's not normal is being stuck there for a long time with no way out.

Our innate personality traits shouldn’t be labeled as strengths or weaknesses. The true value of our qualities and skills emerges from how we apply them across various contexts. Viewing ourselves with flexibility and adaptability inspires critical thinking about the utilization of our talents—our "tigers"—and keeps us open to acquiring new skills that may prove more effective in different scenarios. This mindset enables us to adeptly handle the complexities of life and work.

Multiple Intelligences, first proposed by Howard Gardner, recognizes the multitude of ways people can be smart, including with language, numbers, people, music, self-reflection and so on. Multiple Natures, developed by Steven Rudolph, explores the 9 tendencies of human behavior - Protective, Educative, Creative, and more.
Together, they form a comprehensive understanding of who we are and what we're capable of—especially in the domain of work. Every person is a unique blend of intelligences and tendencies, making the MN Framework a powerful blueprint for defining our talents and potential.

The "tigers" metaphor is a vivid way to explore human nature and intelligence. It suggests that within each of us, there are 19 tigers, each with their own unique potential. These tigers represent our different abilities and tendencies, each with a fierce hunger for activities that feed and stimulate them.
For example, some of us may have big Musical Tiiger that's always ready to pounce and devour anything related to music, be it visiting a music store, attending a concert, or simply listening to your favorite artist. On the other hand, you may have an enormous Linguistic Tiger that prowls for opportunities to read, write, or engage in conversations. The metaphor of these tigers conveys the idea that our natures are powerful, multi-faceted, and ever-hungry, and that they need to be nourished to thrive.

Discover your tendencies and see how they shape your life with the Multiple Natures theory!
Just reminiscing about my time on Brilliantly Resilient podcast with Mary Fran Bontempo & Kristin Smedley! Our episode was all about feeding our tigers, and the idea that there's too much emphasis on being a lone wolf.
Together, we explored the concept that our tigers, or our inner brilliance, is meant to be shared. When we bring out our tigers and encourage others to do the same, we build better teams and find better solutions to challenges.
It was a great conversation and I hope you'll check out my episode in the Brilliantly Resilient Podcast.
The Multiple Natures theory explains that we all have different tendencies, or tigers, that shape our personality, behavior, and preferences. By understanding and embracing our natural abilities, we can align our career, personal life, and passions in a way that feels natural and fulfilling.
When all of our tigers are fed the right way, we feel balanced, happy, and productive. So, start exploring your Multiple Natures and discover the keys to a harmonious and successful life!

In 1989, our founder, Steven Rudolph, moved to New York City to pursue a career in music. To make ends meet, he simply picked the first job available to him—a part-time English teaching gig. Pretty soon, however, he found himself even more engaged in his part-time job than his music career, and experienced a level of satisfaction he had never felt before. He decided to pursue a career in education instead of music and found a full-time teaching position. The choice was transformational. Rudolph was now spending the majority of his week working in a capacity that led to a deep sense of purpose and fulfillment. At the same time, he began to reflect on his newfound level of satisfaction and the career that resonated so profoundly with him. He came to a disconcerting conclusion—his current station in life was the result of sheer luck. He didn’t originally seek out teaching; he stumbled upon it. While he considered himself fortunate to find the job of his dreams, he realized that millions of others weren’t so lucky.
Traditional schooling had taught them important skills, such as math and writing, but had done little to help them uncover what they should do with their lives. Rudolph understood because he had experienced this shortcoming of the education system firsthand. He promised himself that he would fill this gap and create a school where every child would be able to find direction, purpose, and fulfillment. Over the coming year, Rudolph dedicated himself to drafting plans to establish his revolutionary new school in New York.
But circumstances took him to Japan in 1991 where he taught English to youth aged 18-21 at a vocational institute for two years. These young people were in despair over not being able to attend university for various reasons. With Japan’s high value placed on education, they felt like outcasts and were profoundly unmotivated. They did not know why they should put effort into learning English. That’s when Rudolph decided to put what he had learned into practice. He developed a system of ascertaining each student’s strengths and brought those strengths into alignment with why a command of the English language was so important. The results were nothing short of astounding: happy, motivated students who did well and knew exactly where they were going in life. During his time in Japan, Rudolph earned his M.A.Ed.
In 1994, Rudolph’s school became a reality, but not in New York. In the end, his idea resonated most strongly with a friend in New Delhi, India, who invited Rudolph to establish his school there. The Jiva Public School was born. While the institution began with a modest eight students, it was the first school to feature MN theory at the core of its curriculum. The Jiva School stressed self-discovery over strict academic performance. The program focused on the students, aligning their intelligences and natures, nurturing their abilities, and instilling in them a genuine sense of what to do with their lives. This focus, combined with traditional teaching methods, prepared students for the unique challenges of today’s world. Over two decades, the Jiva School’s principles and successes attracted hundreds of new families. Today the Jiva School offers a comprehensive K-12 education to over 2000 students.
The Wider Application Multiple Natures
Rudolph spent nine years developing his ideas into the comprehensive Multiple Natures framework. Through MN, he sought to create a world where everyone could discover their Natures. Rudolph envisioned a global society where everyone could find happiness, flow, and engagement in their careers, personal lives, and relationships.
Between 2013 and 2016, Rudolph traveled to France, Switzerland, Poland, Lithuania and the UAE. Working with esteemed European educators, psychologists, business professionals, life coaches, and therapists, Rudolph honed the principles, theory, and practice of MN. Simultaneously, his collaborators witnessed MN in practice and saw the sense of purpose it brought their students, clients, and organizations. MN’s remarkable results inspired these professionals to implement this approach in their careers and share it with their colleagues. MN began to spread, and soon found traction and use in schools and businesses.
In light of MN’s successes in India and Europe, Rudolph returned to the US and established Multiple Natures International, which is based in Phoenix, Arizona. The MNI team, which includes dozens of dedicated professionals from all over the world, strives to formalize and standardize the teaching, certification, and implementation of Multiple Natures. It works dedicatedly to offer everyone the opportunity to become proficient in our methodologies, whether they belong to a large organization or are solo practitioners. Through this multi-cultural, bottom-up approach, MNI plans to bring MN to the world, making it possible for people of all ages, cultures, and domains to align their potential with their professional and personal engagement—and to lead lives of greater meaning and fulfillment
