When legendary music artist Big Pun said “Twin”, he was not referring to anyone else, but his brother Cuban Link 🇨🇺 Being comrades in Hip-Hop to be the best MC’s, Big Pun was recruited to be part of the Terror Squad music group and in true form, would not allow his “Twin” to get left behind! Honing their skills in the Bronx, New York, Cuban Link and Big Pun, along with Triple Seis known as Full-A-Clips pushed each other to be better while sharing their love for music, and represent for Latinos in Hip-Hop 🎶
Cuban Link held his own every time he was on records such as his awesome verse on Big Pun’s song, ‘The Glamour Life’ and The Beatnuts song, ‘Off The Books’, where he is debated to have the scene-stealing verse, along being featured on various records including Big Pun’s opus ‘Yeeeah Baby’, and Terror Squad’s debut, ‘The Album’. He also went on to ghostwrite for other major artists using his unique style of Latin melodies and Spanish interwoven in his rhymes. 🖊️
In this interview, conducted by Cuban Link shares untold Big Pun stories, we also delve into his history as a Cuban migrant that was part of the Mariel Boat Lift, and the significance of that. Leaving Puerta Cerrada, Cuba which translates to ‘closed door’ is a metaphor to the challenges and obstacles Cuban Link will face in life and music career building him to be a resilient man, artists and of course ‘Twin’. We also spoke about his writing skills, flow and being the bridge between Hip-Hop and today’s biggest music genre, reggaeton. 📻
