HISTORY LESSON!
665 Patterson Ave. was built as a studio from the ground up by Steve Mullinix, in 1978. It opened up in 1979 as the Sound Room. This photo hung up in our lobby is an original sketch that was drawn up during the construction of the studio. After being vacant for a few years, we moved in back in 2011 and fixed her up into the studio you know today! It’s been a crazy 10 years getting this place in the position it’s in now in the Industry working with so many fantastic artist. It doesn’t stop there though! We have some exciting news for next year that we can’t wait to share!

Our Story

Since 2010, Breaker 17 Studio has been a Chattanooga music staple. B17 acquired 665 Patterson Avenue, formerly known as the Sound Room in 2011. The studio re-opened the full facility with a medium sized live room, a control room, and two iso booths. For the past 10 years, B17 has worked with artist and projects of all sizes; from smaller artists to commercial projects like Audible and Food Network. Breaker 17 Studio houses not only some of the best equipment and rooms in Chattanooga, but also some of the finest Engineers that take the time and care each project needs to reach it’s peak potential. Everything we do here is in the spirit of excellence and to build up the artist that come through here. Welcome to Breaker 17 Studio.
