We had an unforgettable family night at the Circus! Huge thanks to Circus Golden Star
for inviting us to their show at West Ridge Mall in Topeka!

It was my girls’ first time at the circus, and they were amazed. We enjoyed VIP seats, face painting, cotton candy, and incredible acrobatic performances. It’s perfect for families with young kids because there were no animals, just pure amazement under the Big Top. If you’re in the Topeka or the Fort Riley area and you’re looking for fun things to do with your kids this weekend, this is a must! 🎪✨

PAW Patrol fans, add this to your movie-day list! 🐾🍿🎬

We got an early look at PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie during a special early-access screening at our local Cinemark, and my PAW Patrol girl was absolutely in her element. 💕🐾

We made it a little extra special with a surprise outfit just for the occasion — a pink PAW Patrol skirt with a big bow, all her favorite characters, and a matching shirt. Watching her walk into the theater smiling from ear to ear was everything. 🥹💗

We grabbed our movie snacks, settled in, and enjoyed seeing the pups take on a whole new adventure on the big screen! 🦖🐾

And the early-access experience came with some pretty special surprises of its own. She left with a PAW Patrol poster, button, and her very first “My First Movie” certificate. 🥹🎬

For a little PAW Patrol fan, it really was such a fun way to spend the day — and I love when a simple movie outing turns into a childhood memory.

Sunday resets have slowly become less about making the house look perfect and more about making the week ahead feel a little easier. 🤎

Because when you’re managing kids, school schedules, activities, meals, appointments, work, and everything else that comes with family life, Monday has a way of arriving FAST. 😂

So before the new week starts, I like taking a little time to reset the things that help our household feel more organized.

Restocking what we use.

Getting our routines back in order.

Planning ahead.

And making sure the things that are already part of our family’s wellness routine are ready for the week.

With back-to-school season approaching, I’m especially focused on creating routines that are realistic enough for our family to actually maintain.

Not a perfect morning routine.

Not some elaborate wellness plan.

Just small, consistent habits that make busy weeks feel a little more manageable.

Because sometimes taking care of your family looks like the big things…

and sometimes it looks like standing in the kitchen on Sunday afternoon, restocking the cabinet and thinking, “Okay. We’re ready for another week.” 😂

And honestly, that little feeling of being prepared is one of my favorite parts of a Sunday reset.

Here’s to a new week, fresh routines, and giving ourselves a little head start. 🤎

Looking for a FREE family adventure in Chicago? ☀️🏙️

Sometimes the best family adventures don’t require a ticket—just a little curiosity.

Instead of visiting our neighborhood park, we decided to spend the day downtown and let the girls experience Chicago through fresh eyes.

We started by walking through Millennium Park where they finally got to see Cloud Gate (The Bean), stopped to admire a new Statue of Liberty art installation, explored the fountains outside the Art Institute, and stood in front of the famous lion sculptures while talking about a little piece of Chicago history.

Then we made our way to Maggie Daley Park, and I completely understood why so many families recommend it. The climbing structures, splash areas, wide-open spaces, and the cool breeze coming off Lake Michigan made it the perfect place to spend a summer afternoon. Watching the girls play in the middle of downtown—with skyscrapers surrounding us—was one of those moments that reminds you how much there is to discover in your own city.

We wrapped up the evening with a quick dinner at Chick-fil-Abefore heading home with tired legs, full hearts, and lots of new memories.

If you’re looking for a free or low-cost family outing in Chicago, consider venturing beyond your neighborhood. Sometimes exploring your own city becomes the greatest adventure of all.

Vacation prep doesn’t start with packing—it starts with wash day. 💛

Before any road trip or family getaway, I make sure my girls’ curls are freshly washed, moisturized, and ready for the adventure ahead. It saves us so much time once we’re traveling and keeps their hair healthy while we’re away.

Lately we’ve been using the Born Curly line from As I Am and it’s been fitting right into our routine.

Now that the curls are done… it’s time to finish packing! ✈️

Weekends around here don’t have to be extravagant to be memorable.

A backyard cookout, game night, s’mores by the fire, and an impromptu spa night for my girls complete with mini manis, pedis, and cucumbers over their eyes because they insisted on the full experience. 🥹

These are the moments I hope they remember.

One of the best parts of family game night? The treats! This time, we tried a collab s’mores kit from Partake Foods Unreal and Dandies Marshmallows

Allergy-friendly, vegan, and absolutely delicious. We just used our s’mores maker, and in minutes, we had golden, gooey perfection.
