INTRODUCING THE ANSWERS UP! WILDCARD SYSTEM
Beginning retroactively with the Spring Tournament, select teams will have an additional path to qualify for the next All Answers Up! Invitational.
A team that is NOT a former champion may become eligible for its city’s Wildcard berth if:
• It leads the Tournament Finale heading into the Finale Rundown but does not have enough Tournament Points to officially qualify for the Finale Rundown, OR
• It qualifies for the Finale Rundown but does not win the Tournament Finale.
If multiple teams in the same city are eligible for a Wildcard berth, the tiebreaker will be each team’s highest Tournament Finale score from any Finale during the season.
If a city’s Wildcard berth remains unclaimed, it may be awarded to an eligible Wildcard contender from another city.
Wildcard invitations will be applied retroactively for the 2026–2027 Championship Year and will not affect any current championship titles.
As with former champions, Wildcard teams must remain active to retain Invitational eligibility. A former champion or Wildcard team is considered active only if it qualifies for its Winter City Tournament prior to the Invitational game.
Should an eligible team for a Wildcard win a championship in later tournaments throughout the year prior to the invitational, that Wildcard berth will either be vacated or go to the next eligible team.
Good luck to all teams competing this summer!
