What’s the best piece of advice you have ever received?
When I was working as a visual manager in retail, someone once said, “We’re selling sweaters, not saving lives.” And it has stuck with me ever since. It immediately put things into perspective and helped calm the pressure I was putting on myself. In any role or industry, there will be mistakes, unexpected challenges, and moments that feel overwhelming. But rarely are they as urgent as they seem in the moment. That mindset has helped me step back, communicate clearly, and focus on finding solutions instead of reacting emotionally. It’s been a key part of avoiding burnout and maintaining a healthier, more balanced approach to my work.
