Come Together For Good: TOMORROW
Our Club will be honoring Veterans in Indiana and Ohio, World War II through the Vietnam Era, who participate in an Honor Flight. Honor Flight celebrates America’s Veterans with a FREE trip to Washington, D.C., to visit and be honored at those Memorials dedicated to honor the service and sacrifices of themselves and their friends. Their goal is 85 veterans per trip, with 5 trips on the 2025 agenda.
Our Club is taking on a Volunteer Connection project serving the Honor Flight Veterans. Volunteers of all ages are encouraged to create thank you cards, letters, drawings, etc. to place in the mail call envelopes for our Veterans to receive during a future Honor Flight. They should simply be addressed “Veteran” and can be drawn, colored, handwritten, typed... all forms of "Thank You for Your Service" expressions are welcome. These are given to the Veterans on their flight home from their day in Washington where they reflected upon the Memorials built in their honor. The cards will be read, re-read and cherished by those brave men and women who receive them. Cards may be in any medium and envelopes are not required.
To generate the greatest number of letters, cards, and drawings, we are asking ND Club members and friends of the University to conduct our project with their friends and family members of all ages on April 26 at a location of their choice (home, library, etc.). The letters, cards, and drawings will be collected and delivered to the Volunteer Center.
If you can start this project tomorrow in honor of Global Day of Service, let us know and then we can coordinate getting the cards and dropping them off.
