We all know Blues Traveler from their big hits "Run-Around" and "Hook" in the mid-90s, but these guys have been rocking out since they were a high school band and haven't stopped nearly 40 years later.

“Most bands, there’s only about six, seven years when you’re kind of the zeitgeist of the pop world. That can’t go on for long," guitarist Chan Kinchla said in an interview with Whatzup. “Our foundation is touring and playing live, which we love doing to this day. So, no matter how weird the business side of it gets, that’s what we always fall back on.”

The jam/blues/rock band will bring their high-energy live performance to Honeywell Center in Wabash on Thursday, Nov. 6.

Fort Wayne loves the blues, particularly when it's being delivered by Joe Bonamassa.

On Saturday, Nov. 8, the four-time Grammy nominee with a record 29 albums hitting No. 1 on the Billboard Blues Chart will be at Embassy Theatre for a raucous night.

"This is a whole new show," Bonamassa told Whatzup. "We’re completely revamping it. We’re playing stuff from the new album (Breakthrough), some of the hits from back in the day, and a whole lot of stuff we haven’t gotten to yet.
"We’re also adding some of the songs from the (B.B. King) Blues Summit (tribute) project, and the Rory Gallagher tribute project I’ve been working on.
"That’s exciting for me. It’s always cool to put together a new show."

Following a year of renovations that include accessibility and technological upgrades, Arts United will welcome the community back to Arts United Center on Saturday, Oct. 25, for their Ghost Light to Spotlight grand reopening celebration.

“It’s a combination of open house-style event, where people are invited to come experience the new patron amenities,” Arts United Director of Communications Rachelle Reinking said of the free event that will run from 11 a.m.-4 p.m. “We’ll also be hosting some backstage tours throughout the day, to kind of see a lay of the land that maybe an audience member might not always get to see."

Along with a look at the upgrades, there will also be live performances throughout the venue by Fort Wayne Children's Choir, Opera Today, World Champion Voices of Unity Youth Choir, Neustalgic Grooves, Kitchen Sink Theatre, Fort Wayne Youtheatre, Fort Wayne Dance Collective, Nrityaishwaryam, and Fire & Light Academy.
