KIDNAPPING @ 11700BLK FM 2015, SMITH COUNTY - 3/17/24
"This afternoon, March 17, 2024, at approximately 4:00 pm, Smith County Deputies responded to a report of a kidnapping in the 11700 block of FM 2015. Upon the arrival of Deputies, they were told that a Hispanic male was taken from his home at gunpoint by two Hispanic male suspects. The suspects demanded an undisclosed amount of money then fled the area in a red newer model Honda vehicle.
Smith County Investigators were notified and responded to the location. Throughout the course of the investigation, they were able to gather intelligence, which led them to believe the suspects were headed into the DFW metroplex area.
Smith County Investigators established contact with both Arlington and Ft. Worth Police Departments in their attempts to locate the victim. Through ongoing efforts, Investigators were able to provide Ft. Worth PD with additional information concerning the location of suspects. Officers with Ft. Worth PD were able to locate the suspect vehicle and take the suspects into custody. The victim was also located and appeared to be physically unharmed.
Smith County Investigators are responding to Ft. Worth to take custody of both suspects, and additional personnel will transport the victim back to Tyler.
