ARTS & LIFE: ‘Sex, drugs and rock and roll baby,’ Denton-filmed series ‘Bandmates’ follows fictional band on the rise

The first thing to go wrong was the fake vomit.

It would not stay in place. Between stifled laughter, gagging sound technicians and a patient director, the scene required several takes. It was just another day on the set of “Bandmates,” a new series filmed in Denton and featuring local musicians, actors and a showrunner refusing to follow Hollywood convention.

Streaming on the streaming service Prime Video, "Bandmates" is the second series from FCK Hxllywxxd Media, a North Texas independent production company founded by producer and director Dustin Nash.
