This past weekend was an NFR for the books — and we’re not just saying that because we were lucky enough to attend. Millions were won as nearly all rough stock competitions came down the wire, including for ba****ck bronc riding, whose champ — a Weatherford resident, we might add — we were able to shadow for our January cover feature.

We won’t reveal his name just yet, but if you keep up with the world of rodeo (or have spent more than 20 minutes on the Cowboy Channel in the last few months), you’ll know exactly who we’re talkin’ about. 😉

TCU has named Gordon Sammis as its new offensive coordinator, hiring the UConn interim head coach following a record-setting two-year run with the Huskies. Sammis will join the Horned Frogs after UConn’s appearance in the Fenway Bowl.

Sammis will join the team upon the conclusion of UConn’s season in the Fenway Bowl against Army on Dec. 27.
