happy Sunday đŒ
16 days until I release my fist published book under my nameâAriel Hendrix đ
As a survivor of s3xual assault, whoâs never seen the justice system actually deliver a punishment that fits the crime, this book series has a much heavier meaning to me than just being âsilly little romance booksâ.
If youâve read books one and two in my Redford Ranch series, you already know what Dolly went through at the beginning of book one.
The first time it happened to me, I was 17 and he was 31. Whatâs crazy about that, is that I wrote Dollyâs book at the age the first man who ever assaulted me was. Itâs a strange feeling to be at the mental age he was at, seeing me as a 17 year old girl back then. It was twisted and sick, but it happens every single day. Unfortunately it wasnât the last time.
Itâs not all men, I know that, but 99% of the women I meet have suffered from SA at some point in their lives, and every single instance was by a man. Most of those perpetrators will never receive the justice they deserve.
Their families and friends turn a blind eye and do nothing about it.
âSheâs ruining his reputation.â Is all theyâll say.
The justice system will conclude there wasnât enough evidence, and everyone will act like it wasnât that bad. She should just get over it.
Fiction is a place we can live out fantasies that will never be reality. For this series, I wanted to write the most satisfying narrative I could think ofâthe bad guys getting whatâs coming to them. No judge or jury required. This series has all morally gray heroes who fight and k!ll to protect women from the men who have hurt them.
Itâs my version of giving victims the ending they deserved after being robbed of something they never should have had to lose.
My books are all standalone stories with happy endings and no cliffhangers.
If you choose to read it, please check trigger warnings at the beginning of each book.
