Mortality And The Moon is now available in our Book Store at moonblimp.com. This debut collection of more than forty poems by new author Misty Patton was curated over adventures, travels, moonlight, and late nights. Presented in two parts, Mortality and the Moon represents writings for the wild ones, for the dreamers and believers. The second half, The Wild Gypsy Heart, is introspection and inspiration from life, nature, spirituality, and the wild gypsy woman.

The cover art is painted by up and coming young artist Sophie Hess with minor interior illustrations by David Patton.

Very inspirational message from for creators. This man is a wellspring of positivity and encouragement for the creative arts. He delivered this speech last night at SDCC while accepting his Inkpot Award.

I still consider Elf Quest by Wendi and Richard Pini, an early influence and the first time I'd really been introduced to pen and ink work. Looking back on it decades later, it's still top notch illustration that's stood the test of time!

As a young teen, I found the series at a Stars and Stripes Bookstore on an overseas military base. With limited options available, there were a few other series that made an impact too ( I'll share those later). What made this unique and extra special is that it was the first widely popular independently published comic series. Funny to think about now that I've come full circle and indie publishing myself! Thanks Pini's! You've made a lot of impact!

Chickens in Godzilla cosplay? Chickens are a Bowie thing, baby. This pen and ink was a smaller companion piece I used as a filler for the 8x10 version of the poster above. Because the poster was and 11x17, the smaller 8x10 had negative space issues. I took a page from the classic "Mad Marginal" by the late great Sergio Aragones to fill that gap.

Fan art isn't my strong suit but I am honored a second time to create the official show poster for Bowie, Texas MiniCon. This is a partial look! I'll be out there at the public library from 10-2 Saturday slinging comics and prints!
