A few of our shots from TBAAL Riverfront Jazz Festival
These amazing artists came to Dallas for one of the BEST weekends in live music. The entire lineup was incredible but as you can imagine, we couldn’t catch every artist.

We can’t do anything about this year, but next year is put this in your calendar and make plans to be there. Put it on your Christmas list, birthday list, bucket list…something! Very special thanks to The Black Academy of Arts and Letters who always makes room for to share their stories from this inspiring hub of visionary arts.

North Crowley 40-10 over Southlake Carroll. Dez Bryant was on the sideline and he is a man of the people. His son is like that but that "no-fly zone" was in full effect. Pre-district play means nothing for some championship teams. You can lose early, tighten up and still win it all. Ask last year's SOC team. North Crowley is just too dominant on all levels. As journalists, we have to be cautious about creating stories, but this Panther team has a score to settle and they're inching closer to it, each week.

Some teams look stellar now and others not so much but the season is LONG. Kids have to stay healthy, keep their grades up and stay focused if they want to play at AT&T in December.

All the best to all programs, kids and coaches on the field this year. Keep your chin up (stay encouraged) and your head down (stay focused). We'll be here to talk wins and losses, but the real work is on the field.
