Never Forget.
What does that mean to you?
For me, it means that I will forever remember that feeling when I cranked my Suburban and the radio was eerily silent. That twenty-five years later, the shock and heartache is still as raw as that morning. It means that I can remember every detail as it unfolded. I remember how time seemed to crawl at snail pace.
I remember how we mourned. Together. As a nation. As a community. Our shared loss of nearly 3000 fellow citizens. The atrocity of the attack on our own soil. Political affiliation. Country of origin. Economic status. None of that mattered. We were truly the UNITED States.
Never Forget is not just something we say. It is something intertwined into our American DNA. So, yes, NEVER FORGET, as if we possibly ever could.
