The interesting result of the SCOTUS hearings and the confirmation of Brett Kavanaugh is the liberal success in recruiting more victims prior to the November elections. Liberals have made, as part of their limited strategy, propaganda showing an increase in victim hood. The entire college age recruitment of potential voters by activist professors requires these young people see themselves as victims of their “oppressors”. We conservatives know the true oppressors are the puppet masters molding these malleable minds into socialists.
The movement has come along at an opportune time for liberals. It has allowed women of any age to embrace the liberal victim hood and they have corralled the herd into a stampede against Republicans. The strategy of resistance to prosperity, peace and the rule of law has been a failure so Democrats had to find a suitable plan B. The savior allowing for this new victim hood was Weinstein, Lauer et al. Democrat sleazeballs paved the way for to make false claims against well mannered, law abiding conservatives like Brett Kavanaugh.
Now they have a target just in time for the mid term elections. The irony of using bad behavior of men on the left to cast blame on the right is straight from the “Alinsky” playbook.
Let’s hope a Texas Conservatives can see thru this hypocrisy and re-elect Ted Cruz.

President Donald J Trump has been called names and given tags other than conservative. He is not, or does not always appear to be conservative in the strictest definition of the term, so what is he? He may, on occasion, display some libertarian views but is not, in any defining way a full throated libertarian. His MAGA slogan has branded him a populist but again, not a purebred. We have coined a word and set up a group to better define the Trump ideology. He is a
Conservapopulartarian.
Yes, he’s a mongrel, a cross breed of three ideologies, a bit conservative (see The appointment of Gorsuch) a small bit of libertarian (live and let live) and populist ( the aforementioned MAGA). So are you also a mutt, a mixture of these different ideologies?

Ronald Reagan often spoke of conservative values and Republican governance in a way that unified our citizenry. He did so in a way that was attractive to many on the left who became "Reagan Democrats".

Two of his rules were, never speak ill of a fellow republican, and if you find eighty percent to agree with someone they are a friend. Today we seem to have forgotten both of these tenets. We certainly have found reasons to voice disparaging words towards politicians who vote with the conservative agenda far more than eighty percent.

As a proponent of term limits it's my belief in using the primary process to help career politicians retire and provide upgrades to the legislative bodies. I encourage people with diverse backgrounds to enter politics and bring their expertise to public service. There is however an argument that supports seniority in both houses of the federal Congress. It brings me to the question we Texans face in 2020. Do we find a more conservative candidate to oppose Senator John Cornyn in the primaries or do we support his efforts for reelection? The answer is both.
While he can clearly be labeled as "establishment", he is likely a candidate to succeed our current majority leader should McConnell step down or be replaced.
We can actively seek out and support another Ted Cruz (should we find one) yet support Cornyn should he prevail in a primary.

The ideology that we see things through acts as a prism that bends the light of truth. Every ideology is just that, a prism or filter that subtly changes the truth into what we see; what we digest.
Unfiltered light is truth. Truth is in its unfiltered state undeniable. It is simply truth. Facts. What we see is often bent ever slightly to our palate. It is easier to believe if we subject it to our prism.
I believe my conservatism allows less bending of the truth. It doesn't have a perspective of a victim, of a minority oppressed by the man or a member of a generation taught to see the world through entitled glasses. I choose to see the world with less manners of offense. I refuse to be offended.
The conservative black man does not require a minority prism to see truth. He doesn't see racism behind every word or deed. It's not that he hasn't experienced racism but rather that it simply does not affect his prism of light. He sees truth with less bend. There are many who have been victimized but are not victims. They refuse to be a victim of oppression or bad karma. Their prism bends less light and allows the truth to find its way with less filtering.
Political correctness is simply a big fat prism that bends the light in a fashion it no longer resembles truth. It is a filter that will not allow truth to enter in an unvarnished state. We should all avoid the filters that do not allow truth to find us without being modified. Sunshine is the best sanitizer. Conservatism is the thinnest of filters.

Natural disasters tend to expose the inner self of all of our citizenry. The looters tend to surface when people are otherwise occupied with basic survival and so does the compassion and love for fellow human beings make itself known during these times.
We Texans are proud of our individualism and self reliance, especially those of us with conservative values but it's times like these when storms like Harvey trespass on our daily lives that we have the opportunity to display the compassionate conservative nature of our Texas values.
The outpouring of helping hands and the attitudes of the victims together are an indication that there is hope and the sun will eventually shine and the rebuilding will begin.
The rebuilding of Houston and southeast Texas will need time, money and above all sweat. Texas will persevere and once again show the country and the world what true grit is.
Be proud all you Texans.

As we celebrate our 241st birthday and pause to reflect on the fifty six patriots who signed the Declaration it should also be a time when we realize the sacrifice these men made. Many died for their beliefs and all suffered financially.
I can't imagine today's politicians making that kind of commitment. Somehow the career "public servant" doesn't project "give me liberty or give me death". If America was facing a crisis anywhere near the events of 250 years ago would any member of Congress step up to lead? How about the bureaucrats with their union protected jobs and under financed pensions? Somehow I'm sure it would require a focus group and multiple polls to establish a winning political strategy.
The real question is whether any of the constitutional conservative Republicans could ever be mistaken for the patriotic signers? We can be relatively certain the ultra liberal left would never put ink to paper if it involved life or death. Democrat leadership might protest against big business or fossil fuels but dumping tea into a harbor does not compute. The thought of Mother England taking complete care of our citizenry from cradle to grave does seem like a plank from the DNC platform.
We have made strides over these past two hundred plus years and progress is welcome but there still are things like honor and duty that we unfortunately have not found improvement.
We are blessed to have evolved from those fifty six. There needs to be a resurgence of that kind of honor and duty that puts country first. It's time for the nation to come together and do what's best for America. Our founders did the right thing. Let's hope we can do them proud.

Democrats have shown America just how committed they are to the non working, uninformed voter. Chanting nana nana goodbye after the House of Representatives voted to repeal and replace the disastrous Obamacare (okay, the ACA) let those who pay those ridiculous premiums and suffer with those inflated deductibles just how much they want healthcare to continue to remain so costly.
Conservative republicans held their ground and produced a better bill, no thanks to moderate republicans and faced the chanting liberals with grins that said, "bring it on".
We'll see how the Senate responds as it now has the opportunity to make this legislation even better. The right is all about bringing costs down for all Americans while the left seems more interested in stepping closer to that horrible single payer option.
Yeah, that VA track record is just what Americans want??? Not!!

A history lesson...

During the George W. Bush administration Democrats used the filibuster rule to block judicial appointments to lower courts leaving many federal judge openings vacant. When Barack Obama was elected and Democrats continued to control the Senate Republicans threatened to do the same filibuster tactic. Harry Reid countered with the so called "nuclear option" allowing a simple majority vote to confirm all judicial confirmations other than Supreme Court appointees. This allowed Obama to flood the courts with ultra liberal activist judges at all appellate circuit courts which are now threatening partisan response to all Trump executive orders.
The Reid/Schumer rule recently enacted which led to the confirmation of Neil Gorsuch as our newest associate justice is simply a continuation of the strategy of Harry Reid. Liberals hope to control both the Senate and the White House one day and reverse the makeup of all courts including SCOTUS. The importance of Conservative control of all branches of government cannot be underestimated. Our future as a nation depends on a Republican (conservative) majority.
