My latest book will be available soon in print format. However, it is currently available as an eBook (all formats). This is my most personal reflection on my life and how my father impacted my understanding of God.

This is not just a book about me. Everyone who is serious about their understanding of God will discover insights they might not have experienced previously.

An examination of the relationship we have with our father and how that impacts our understanding of God. This is a personal glimpse at how one man's life was forever impacted by his father.

CreateSpace, the book publishing platform provided by Amazon made this announcement:

“After a thorough review of our service offerings, we’ve made the decision to discontinue CreateSpace’s paid professional editing, design and marketing services. We will work closely with impacted employees through this transition to help them find new roles within the company or assist them with pursuing opportunities outside the company.”

This means that authors who want to self-publish will need to do their own layout, design, and editing. This is where Austin Brothers Publishing can help. When you ready to publish your manuscript, we can make it happen for you.

A good article by one of our authors - Dwight Short. As he usually does, Dwight brings common sense into our often senseless world.

CHICK-FIL-A CONVERTING PEOPLE AT RECORD PACE

Monday Morning Message, May 7, 2018 (from articles in The New Yorker & New York Post)

If recent warnings in the New York Times and other left leaning publications are to be taken seriously, the warning signs are out that this favored fast food chicken place is causing people to become Bible believing born again Christians. One article pointed out that consuming such food was to endorse all of the worst of the conservative political agendas by eating that chicken sandwich or the checkerboard potato fries. Attempts to paint the owners of Chick-fil-A as haters and an organization that is against g**s have failed miserably. Checking out the Cathay Family track record finds their hiring practices exceeds any standard the LGBT can muster.

When Chick-fil-A first ventured into considering opening stores in New York City, the outcry from liberal groups could be heard all the way to San Francisco. Their premise is that once you fall into the fast food lines at this vendor, you are also buying into their “pervasive brand of Christian traditionalism”. If that were only true, we would have filled every Christian church in every town where Chick-fil-A exists. Have you seen the lines around the block every day at so many of their restaurants? The fact is, they are converting people to chicken sandwiches and good fast food at a record pace. What is also true, they are leaving a solid witness to all who see how they do business.

They have chosen to close their stores in EVERY location on Sundays. To most business people, this does not seem like a good idea for profits since this is a day when many people are out and about in areas where Chick-fil-A has a restaurant. Since it is a strongly held conviction, it also stands out as an example of how maximizing profits in all possible circumstances could not be part of the corporate mantra. Should others follow this example? Should all Christians close down their business on the Sabbath to keep it holy? Only, if God calls you to do it!

Although I rarely order the chicken sandwiches, I am a big fan of the chicken tenders and the Hawaiian dipping sauce. Add an ice cream cone for less than $1.50 and that’s lunch on the road when I travel and want something “fast”. I know it will taste good; the people will be friendly; the bathrooms will be clean; and I will be rested and renewed. You know what? Maybe they are trying to convert everyone to be a Christian! Offering good food and good service! How dare they try to deceive everyone with honesty, integrity, and good products?

I Thessalonians 2:9-11(RSV) “For you remember our labor and toil, brethren; we worked night and day, that we might not burden any of you, while we preached to you the Gospel of God. You are witnesses, and God also, how holy and righteous and blameless was our behavior to you believers…” We exhorted each one of you and encouraged you and charged you to lead a life worthy of God’s calling…
