The January issue of Premier is live!

Featured on this month’s cover is Top Gunn. From the moment he hit the ground, Top Gunn looked every bit the part of a future star. The striking 2019 bay stallion by Machine Made out of Ima Potential had both the pedigree and the presence to back his name. Purchased as a weanling by Rusty Green, and now owned by Paul and Marylyn Caliendo's MC's Dragon Ranch, Top Gunn has since carved out a remarkable path, one that bridges his success in the show pen with a promising future in the breeding shed. You can read more about this Congress Champion in our cover story.

You’ll also find a Breeder Spotlight on Alyse Roberts, whose boutique program has built a reputation for producing standout hunter under saddle horses like Blue Kahlua, Helloo Gorgeous, and Maximum Quarantime.

In Meet The Assistant Trainer, you’ll get to know Devon Meshach, whose lifelong passion for horses led her to Ocala, Florida, where she currently works for Katy Jo and Tim Zuidema.

We also sat down with the newly formed Rail Horse Association to learn more about their mission to bring clarity, credibility, and advocacy to the western pleasure and hunter under saddle events.

This issue also introduces a brand new series highlighting the incredible vendors we’re fortunate to have at The Premier, starting with Leah Van Blarcom. Her journey to becoming The Equestrian Chiropractor is one shaped by loss, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to doing right by both horses and the people who love them.

To round out the issue, we asked members of the industry to share their New Year’s resolutions. Their responses offer thoughtful—and sometimes funny—insight into the goals, growth, and intentions guiding the year ahead, both in and out of the show pen.

One day only! Save an extra $100 on a half-price breeding to The Krymsun Kruzer!

The Krymsun Kruzer is a stallion who needs no introduction, but for those unfamiliar with his legacy, his career started in 2006 when he tied for the Congress Championship in the 2-Year-Old Open Western Pleasure and placed third at the AQHA World Championship Show in the same class. That same year, he was named the NSBA High Point 2-Year-Old Western Pleasure Horse. By the time The Krymsun Kruzer turned three, he had begun his all-around career—a journey that would ultimately earn him the titles of AQHA Superhorse, AQHA World Champion, Congress Champion, and Congress All-Around Champion.

When he retired from competition at just five years old to begin his breeding career, The Krymsun Kruzer had amassed over 327 AQHA points in Junior Working Hunter, Junior Pleasure Driving, Western Riding, Trail and Halter, cementing his reputation as one of the most versatile stallions of his generation.

As a sire, the Krymsun Kruzer has passed on his exceptional talent and versatility to his offspring, siring World and Congress Champions who have collectively earned over $252,000 and 13,000 AQHA points. His progeny continue to dominate in a wide range of disciplines, making The Krymsun Kruzer not only a legend in the show pen but also a transformative influence in the breeding world—a stallion whose impact will be felt for generations to come.

And lucky for you, a half price breeding to The Krymsun Kruzer is available through our stallion service sale. TODAY ONLY the $100 admin fee is waived when you use the code KRUZER at checkout.

Flash sale today only! Get an extra $100 off a half-price breeding to Mr Zippos Good Bar!

As a two-year-old, Mr Zippos Good Bar dominated the western pleasure pen, capturing the 2-Year-Old Open and Intermediate Open titles at both the Tom Powers Futurity and NSBA World Championship Show, as well as the 2-Year-Old Open and Limited Open at the Congress. He closed out the year as the NSBA High Point Champion in both the 2-Year-Old Open and Intermediate Open Western Pleasure, leaving no doubt that he had what it takes to carry on the remarkable legacy of his sire, Zippos Mr Good Bar.

In 2022, Mr Zippos Good Bar became a Congress Champion sire from his very first foal crop when Brooke DeBuhr and GetMyGoodSyde claimed the Super Sale 2-Year-Old Non-Pro Western Pleasure title. The pair also earned Reserve Congress Champion honors in the 2-Year-Old Limited Non-Pro Western Pleasure. Their success at the Congress capped off an exceptional season that included NSBA World Champion and BCF Champion titles earlier in the year. GetMyGoodSyde is only the beginning of Mr Zippos Good Bar’s growing list of successful offspring. Other standouts include The Breeze, a Reserve Congress Champion and Back To Berrien Champion, along with NSBA World Show Bronze Champions Next Thingg You Know and Ffergalicious.

In 2024, Mr Zippos Good Bar returned to the show pen, winning the 3 & Over Maiden Trail at the Sudden Impulse Futurity, further showcasing his versatility and longevity.

If you’re breeding western pleasure horses and this striking roan stallion isn’t already on your short list, now is the time to change that. We have a half price breeding through our stallion service sale, and TODAY ONLY, the $100 admin fee is waived when you use the code GOODBAR at checkout.
