My dream shack in Fortuna, California. My main radio is a Winradio Excalibur Pro. I have added my own software to integrate with the radio and and Access database derived from HFCC, EiBi, and Klingenfuss data. I also have about a dozen other shortwave radios including a 1927 Super Wasp. My main antenna is a 10 to 30 MHz Log Periodic. I also own two Large Aperture Wellbrook Loop antennas.

I can see a carrier on 15245 kHz with a weak signal for the Wooferton tests this morning at 1330 UTC here in California.

Voice of Korea is strange this morning at 1500 UTC. It's supposed to be English on 11710 and 9435 kHz to NA. Weird language on both frequencies. Not sure what it is but doesn't sound like Korean, French, or English which they normally use to NA. Russian?

Odd phenomenon this morning on 16M. I am listening to VOA from Moepeng Hill, Botswana on 17530 kHz. It's coming in at S8 at my QTH in Fortuna, CA. The odd thing is that I have an LP antenna that is highly directional and my best reception is on the longpath. I am getting no multipath but my signal is coming the long way. However, Botswana is 23400 km that direction versus 16600 km the short way.
The same is true for the BBC from Ascension Island on 17830 kHz at 1600 UTC. The longpath is the one I hear, not the short. 12200 km versus 28800 km.
