Founded by Bill Dickson in 1993, DRAT Productions, Inc. began as a small recording studio serving local artist in the Catonsville, MD area. One being in Catonsville, MD and the other in Bethany Beach, DE. DRAT Productions, Inc as well as housing to recording studios, operates an on site audio and video team serving every type of client needing Audio/Video support. We travel anywhere in the US to s

upport seminars, live music performances, live theater events as well as community organization meetings. In addition DRAT produces and duplicates media products such as CDs, DVDs, and like products. Founder Bill Dickson is the principal operator providing guitar, bass, voice and songwriting lessons and coaching. Engineer Jason Butcher and Video Specialist Jay Chapin are also an integral part of the DRAT team.

When I'm not producing a big seminar, conference or the like, you can find me playing some tunes, sometimes with my brother Brian. If you get down our way stop by and see us. Here's a video from our gig at 38 Degrees last Saturday. I know this is "Come Monday " by Jimmy Buffet, but won't y'all come out this Friday when we play at the Berlin Beer Company. We play 6-9pm. Last time I was at this place I think I was 7 years old and it was the Berlin Ice Company. 😀😆🧊

Large gatherings of people naturally produce heat, so venues often set a lower initial temperature to compensate. Additionally, some studies suggest that a slightly cooler environment can enhance alertness and focus, which may benefit attendees during presentations or workshops.

😱 So, you're at an event or concert and unexpectedly a loud sound screeches through the air...everyone grabs their ears...WHAT HAPPENED?! You just experienced "feedback"! Feedback happens when the sound entering a microphone is reproduced by a speaker, then picked up by the microphone, and re-amplified over and over again.

How to Use A Microphone: One of my biggest pet peeves is audience members and speakers not using microphones correctly. 🎤🎤 Being a live event audio engineer for over 30 years, I've seen it all. If you're standing behind a microphone on a stand, position yourself 4-6 inches directly behind the mic as the picture shown indicates. Also, speak clearly and projecting at a somewhat louder than conversational level. Please remember if the mic is too high or too low, it's ok to remove it from the stand or adjust the mic or mic stand position to accommodate this distance. When on stage holding a microphone, keep the same distance rule in mind. Please don't gobble the mic or have it sitting in your lap. I could go on and on about misuse and how to fix it, but for now. consider this tip as a general rule of thumb.

Founded by Bill Dickson in 1993, DRAT Productions, Inc. began as a small recording studio serving local artists in the Baltimore, MD area. It has since grown to house 2 studios. One in Catonsville, MD and the other in Bethany Beach, DE.

In addition to studio recording and engineering, DRAT provides on site audio and video support for seminars, conferences, live music performances, live theater events as well as community organization meetings/events anywhere in the continental US. DRAT can also produce and duplicate CDs and DVDs.

As an experienced-professionally trained musician, Bill also offers guitar, bass, voice and songwriting lessons and coaching.
