We went to the Katonah Museum of Art to see the exhibition: Sparkling Amazons. I was questioning the authenticity of the two works by Perle Fine provided by ©AE Artworks. Since Perle Fine has no copyright. The attribution using © is not related to the work itself.
See ISBN: 0967799406 pages: 139, 140.
Michael Gitlitz, Executive Director responded, "Since Perle Fine is unknown and her work is cheap therefore there would be no reason to forge her art."
This was a very troubling response from an Executive Director of a non-profit organization. After reading the biographic information of Michael Gitlitz, it became clear that he has acted according to his training which might hinder the required obligation of due diligence by the Katonah Museum of Art.
