The Bowling Green–Warren County Drug Task Force began an investigation into drug trafficking activity in the Bowling Green area, which led to the identification of a “stash house” operating in the city.

On Sept. 22, 2025, detectives established probable cause and, with authorization from the Warren County Commonwealth’s Attorney, obtained a search warrant approved by a District Judge. That evening, at approximately 9:30 p.m., the warrant was executed at a residence located in the 700 block of West Main Avenue in Bowling Green. Detectives with the Drug Task Force were assisted by the Bowling Green Police Department, Kentucky State Police, and the Warren County Sheriff’s Office.

The following items were seized from the residence:

36 pounds of Mexican crystal methamphetamine
30 pounds of processed ma*****na
2 pounds of powder co***ne
14.6 grams of powder fentanyl
Numerous items of drug paraphernalia consistent with a large-scale narcotics trafficking operation

This investigation will be presented to the Warren County Commonwealth’s Attorney’s Office and the United States Attorney for the Western District of Kentucky to determine which jurisdiction is most appropriate for prosecution. As the investigation continues, additional information will be released when appropriate.

Drug task force destroys $32K in ma*****na in Simpson County after tip

On Sept. 12, the South-Central Kentucky Drug Task Force located and destroyed 16 ma*****na plants with an estimated street value of $32,000 following a tip from a resident in the Prices Mill community in Simpson County.

The task force, which has jurisdiction in Simpson and Allen counties, began an investigation after receiving a complaint about potential ma*****na cultivation near Minnicks Johnson Road in the Prices Mill Community. Agents discovered several small, concealed plots of ma*****na plants hidden among cornfields.

"It is a common tactic for illicit growers to intermingle small plots of ma*****na within cornfields in an attempt to conceal the plants from view and reduce the likelihood of detection," said Jacky Hunt, director of the task force. "Often, growers will spread out these small plots across multiple fields to further decrease the risk of discovery, oftentimes destroying part of the cornfield."

Task force agents used a drone to conduct an aerial survey of the area to locate the hidden plots. The plants were seized and destroyed on-site in accordance with standard procedure.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains active.

The South-Central Kentucky Drug Task Force has drone and aircraft capabilities to aid in its investigations. The task force thanked local farmers and community members for their assistance, noting that their cooperation is vital in preventing illegal drug activity.
