I can hardly believe July is almost over! But...this is a special day, It’s is my mother's Birthday!🎂

I have packed up and left KAA to 🥳 Celebrate 🎊 her today! Be patient with me, I am talking about my mother. 😉

I appreciate her for so many things, but one in particular, she is I woman of disciplined habits, Monday laundry day, making beds with nurses corners and reminding us “everything has a place, so put things where they belong.”

However, there is one routine I appreciate most about my mother is her "daily prayer time🙏🏾. Every morning she will tuck away and pray. Her house has a "walk-in closet where she goes in, shuts the door, pulls out her scripture prayer book, and…” has a little talk with Jesus" 🎵. This is her time with The Father, and she lets nothing interrupt her.

Mother "makes and takes" time to call on the One who controls the universe. Trusting He would answer.

Whenever I would be "in a way" while talking with mother...she would let me "rant" for a moment and then shift the momentum of the conversation "drop a couple of nuggets of wisdom" and ask...Have you prayed about it?

I used to get irritated when she asked that. But... I have grown to realize what she was doing. Mother was listening with careful intent to know how and what to pray!

Lord help us to listen and learn how to pray each day!

"But you, when you pray, enter your closet, and when you have shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret. And your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly." Matt. 6:6

As I reflect on my summer at Kids Across America, I was scrolling through pictures and came across a photo I took of a rainbow in the sky on July 24, 2021. That summer was before some of the most challenging life struggles of my journey with Jesus.

The Lord left the gift of a rainbow 🌈 in Genesis 9:12-17. The rainbow reflects God’s covenant to Noah, his descendants, and all humanity, specifically after the “Great Flood” that destroyed the earth. It was a visual reminder of God's faithfulness and mercy in carrying us through storms.

Many today are still grieving their loss through a “great flood this summer. Remember them in prayer.

Now, on the other side of that “life storm”, I’m taking time today to reflect on the promises God spoke to my heart this summer.

Prayerfully, I'll be back to the “Green Tiny House next year!!
😉☺️😎

KAA was prayed into existence!

“Remember the LORD your God. He is the one who gives you power to be successful, in order to fulfill the covenant he confirmed to your ancestors with an oath.” Deuteronomy 8:18

Last night I witnessed The Holy Spirit move on this mountain once again! Many young people made a decision to surrender their lives to trust and follow the One who first loved them.

"People were also bringing babies to Jesus to have him touch them. When the disciples saw this, they rebuked them. But Jesus called the children to him and said, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of God belongs to such as these. I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it.” (Lk 18: 15 –17)

Jesus used a teachable moment to demonstrate entrance into His Kingdom. He said it was OK to bring even infants to Him so He could lay His hands on them and bless them. They come in total dependence on the one carrying them, having done nothing but breathe and eat trusting the one "carrying them to Jesus". There was nothing to do or prove to gain entrance in His presence or to earn His love! ❤️

Let's walk in FAITH and TRUST today!

Do you realize how much you are loved ❤️ right now? Some of you have just woken up, and others are still sleeping 🛌 as I type. You have done absolutely nothing but open your eyes another day and breathe.

“Even before he made the world, God loved us and chose us in Christ to be holy and without fault in his eyes. God decided in advance to adopt us into his own family by bringing us to himself through Jesus Christ. This is what he wanted to do, and it gave him great pleasure." Ephesians 1:4-5

We weren't there in the beginning to do anything for God to lovingly choose us to be His! ☺️

I have to give a shout-out again to the Jubilee Juneteenth album again 🎶🎵"I'll never be more loved than I am right now...there is nothing I can do to make You proud..Jireh, You are enough!!!"

Embrace His unconditional ❤️

I am today! ❤️🙏🏽 Doc

This morning I kept hearing in my mind “align the body”.

“The Head, that is, Christ. From him the whole body, joined and held together by every supporting ligament, grows and builds itself up in love, as each part does its work.” Ephesians 4:16

In undergrad and grad school, I had the opportunity to study anatomy and physiology. I also taught it for years. I was fascinated by our design and how the Bible describes believers as “the body" of Christ.

Our human body’s physical alignment refers to the proper positioning of the head, shoulders, spine, hips, knees, and ankles relative to each other. Note there are 5 parts of the body that are to be rightly aligned to each other, but it won’t happen if they are not individually positioned in line with the head!

Prayerfully ask the Father am I rightly aligned with you today? As we allow the Holy Spirit to make adjustments in our thoughts and emotions, we are more willing and able to act differently toward our brothers and sisters. We are being “aligned” to the Head!

Choosing alignment and refinement today!

Most of the year, I have been ministered to by the song "Trust in God" feat. Chris Brown 🎶🎶🎵 Each time I would step into a church service, or time of worship with others, this song would be in the selection. Yesterday, I jumped in Karia’s golf cart. I heard, "I trust in God, my Savior, the One who will never fail. He will never fail." This morning, the words to the song Make it Right were ringing in my ear...”You can make it right...here I am, Jesus...You can make things right."

As a young believer in my early 20s, when I felt disrespected or like my voice didn’t matter, I would usually turn around and stomp away, cussing 😳 Sometimes it would mount 😡…But as I “kept walking, my steps would get softer, my eyes would fill with tears, and I would say, “Lord help me to handle this.”

Over the years I have grown to realize my emotions were not going to disappear by someone telling me “What would Jesus Do?” or “my thoughts” saying: “You’re not acting like a Christian” It wasn't imitating Jesus in the moment, but learning how to "trust" The One who enables me to change.

Lord, I need your grace and power to change! Keep on walking and crying out to God! 🚶🏾‍♀️‍➡️😩🙌🏾

Teach me, O Lord, the way of your statutes; and I will keep it to the end. Psalm 119:33 - ESV

There is power in agreement in prayer! When we bow in prayer, the angels can stand and do what God has assigned. Our God hears us!

🙏🏾🧎🏾‍♀️When Paul wrote the following verse, he was talking to the Church “ekklesia” at Ephesus. For centuries in both the Greek and Roman empires, it referred to a secular institution operating in the marketplace in a governmental capacity. When Jesus used the word, speaking to Peter (Matthew 16:18) He was stating that He was about to introduce His redemptive agency. The Book of Ephesians was written to the people of Ephesus who operated as a transforming organism, not a static institution.

“Now to him who is able to do far more abundantly than all that we ask or think, according to the power at work within us, to him be glory in the church (we are the ecclesia- the church) and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever. Amen.” Ephesians 3:20-21

These individuals understood that God’s steadfast love Never ceases, His mercies are New every morning. There is enough for each day, so lean into the God who is more than enough for everything you need today! Continue to thank God for being Who He is!
So join with others of the “Ekklesia” in your community and agree together in prayer for not only what is needed, but for who is in need.

"And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ."
Philippians 1:6

I love you, O Lord, my strength.
The Lord is my rock, my fortress, and my deliverer;
my God is my rock, in whom I take refuge. (Ps 18:1–2)

WOW we just completed session 7...And the Lord has shown Himself faithful.

There is so much we can praise Him for! The old song 🎶 says: "When I look back over my life, and I think things over...I can truly say that I am blessed, I’ve got a testimony!!🎵

David testified and said, "The Lord" is my strength, fortress, and deliverer.

*Note* He did not say The Lord "was" His deliverer...David used the present tense verb "is" testifying that The Lord is: OMNIPRESENT! The great "I AM" was whatever David needed when He needed it. The Lord showed up!

David closes Psalm 18 with
"Therefore, I will praise you among the nations, O Lord; I will sing praises to your name." (Ps 18:49).

Wherever you read "therefore," in the text, take the time "look back" to see what it is "there for" 😉

Take a minute and reflect over the first 7 sessions of the summer, better yet, over your life, and like David "testify" how The Lord has met you.

Last night, hearts were being changed and souls were being saved. Today, the bells will ring again in celebration of young people making a decision to respond to the tug of The Holy Spirit and become “a child of God.” A “newborn” comes into the world from a protected environment. For about 9 months, they are carried in their mother’s womb; being nurtured and developed.

When the umbilical cord is cut, the miracle of the baby’s first breath fills lungs 🫁. And it starts with a “cry”. Now the work begins!

We are called to create a nurturing environment so the “newborn” continues to develop and grow. Instinctively, infants want to feed. The first breath of life began with a cry. May we continue to cry out to God to be fed and led by Him.

“Like newborn babies, crave pure spiritual milk, so that by it you may grow up in your salvation.”
(1 Pe 2:2).

“But the Counselor, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.”
(John 14:26)

Thinking about choosing to walk 🚶🏾‍♀️in love ❤️and joy 😁today! I will have the opportunity to meet and greet many people this weekend. The choice is mine to smile and speak, or keep my head down and “act” focused and on a “mission”. 😕

If we are the “sheep” of God’s pasture, there is a need to look 👀 up and see where we are headed. A divine appointment may be right in front of you! Sheep 🐑 do not travel alone. You are most likely on someone else’s path that God has designed to meet today. “Awareness” is a powerful characteristic of availability.

God uses “earthen vessels” people 👥 whom he blesses to be a blessing - a vessel through which Divine favor can flow to help stop misfortune in someone else’s life! - Be the blessing! 🗣Everything we need to be a blessing is in us! Just be you and do you!

♥️ Doc

🙏🏾Have a great day!

“His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence,”
2 Peter 1:3 ESV

I can remember the days when we were told to “Get cleaned up, 🧽 and get the house in order 🧹, we are expecting company.”; or put on your “church clothes”. That’s right, we had an outfit(s) for, school, play, and church. Mother and my older sister Karen knew how to mix and match a few items to make it look like we had a full wardrobe. ☺️

There was something special about getting dressed up for Sunday because we were going to God’s house! I didn’t understand then what I know now, we were encouraged to go to the House of God, giving Him “our best” and to wait with “expectancy”! Can you hear “the mothers” of the church singing 🎵 “Speak Lord! Speak to Me” 🎶

As children of God and citizens of His Kingdom, we are “the house” that is cleansed by Him in prayer. “Create in me a clean heart ❤️” (Ps 51:10)
Let’s “wait on The Lord”🙏🏾 to see what He will do in and through you!

“Joshua told the people, “Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do amazing things among you.” (Joshua 3:5)

This morning, I woke up with the words in my mind: “we wrestle not”. My mind jumped to Ephesians, and I was nudged to pause and read the word wrestle again. The word “rest” sits in the middle of the word wrestle.

The book of Ephesians is written to the “believers” at Ephesus. The focus was to the community, yet everyone had a responsibility. We can “rest” knowing that we are not alone in the battles we fight. The Lord told his disciples to come to Him when they are overburdened, and He will give them “rest” for their souls. It translates as relaxation and recreation.

The beauty of being at camp this summer, is we are in a faith filled “community” designed for fun and spiritual growth. The text says: “we” wrestle, not “I” wrestle. When you feel overwhelmed or burdened, take it to the Lord in shared prayer. A brother or sister can “help” you cast your cares on The Lord or lay your heavy load at His feet. After prayer, you’re relieved to relax and have some fun.

A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a broken spirit saps a person’s strength.”
(Prov 17:22)

For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, (Eph 6:12a)
