Why is the median net worth of all Americans so low compared to Financial Mutants? Here's 3 reasons:

1) Financial Mutants save more. 88% of you Financial Mutants are saving more than 10% of their gross income. The Federal Reserve says the average American's Savings Rate is right around 5%.

2) Financial Mutants start earlier. The average American starts taking their finances seriously at age 33 (according to Bankrate), whereas the average Financial Mutant started at age 25.

3) Financial Mutants have a plan. Only 36% of Americans have a written financial plan, according to Charles Schwab. 100% of Financial Mutants are following the FOO!

We covered this in yesterday's livestream Q&A on YouTube (which is today's podcast episode)! If you want more data like this, stay tuned for Friday - when we'll analyze the average American compared to Financial Mutants compared to Abound Wealth Clients!

Our biggest takeaway?

We like making decade-themed graphics (not really, but we did have a lot of fun making those).

The real takeaway here is the need for diversification!

Don't get us wrong. If you're leaning heavily into equities in the beginning of your investing journey, we aren't going to come track you down.

But as you approach the decades living on your investments, you want to be prepared for everything. The best financial plan works before, during, and after any financial chaos.

**This chart is NOT perfect! The Case-Shiller Index tracks housing prices on a national basis - that doesn't necessarily represent returns on housing. The stock market could be measured with a total market fund rather than just the S&P 500. Bonds are down through 2024 but are already showing potential to change that by the end of the decade. We think the chart still shows why diversification is valuable!
