Celebrating another anniversary of the launch of my YOUTUBE channel. Now, with 5.9 million views and 6,700 subscribers. Thank you, everyone, for watching and sharing my channel and the interesting people, places, events and things on my journey.
Back in 2009, there were few YOUTUBERs or social influencers - no TIKTOK, Snapchat, and before cell phones were watching it on reels like today.
My channel started merely as a way to share my interests, hobbies, and subject matter I enjoyed. And people started watching...and following...and wanting more.
When YOUTUBE approached me to become a YOUTUBE Partner, I thought it was a scam at first. But I realized, OK, they want me in their program as an early adopter.
Years later, I've created and encouraged a lot of other companies and colleagues to launch YOUTUBE channels and share their content. What's still great about YOUTUBE - well, their powerful search engine that offers your content to help others.
The viewers can help shape your content, so open up your comments, let them tell you what they think (it's not always pretty) - and it can help drive your future content. Try not to take it personally, and recognize it's OK not to be perfect or please everyone. Have fun, keep growing, enjoy the lessons of the journey!
