The Magnolia Belles met for their September meeting at the home of Angela Rosa who shared hostess duties with Marsha Seibert, Janet Breland, and Anne Millette (above). With hopes of Fall just around the corner the Fall theme prevailed on the Rosa's beautiful deck. A delicious meal of Caesar salad, shrimp and corn chowder, followed by a choice of crème puff or bread pudding desserts.

The Franklinton Demons football team defeated the Pine Raiders last Friday in Demon Stadium to take the Washington Parish championship. After a hard fought game that was tied midway of the third quarter, the Demons pulled away for a 29-14 victory.

The Franklinton Junior High Falcons continued their dominant season last Tuesday with a decisive 30-8 victory over the Mt. Hermon Yellow Jackets. With the win, the Falcons improved to 6-0 and are well on their way to qualifying for the Washington Parish Junior High Championship game.

Though Monday, September 22nd was officially the first day of Autumn, the leaves had already begun to fall. It appears that both the dry weather and the seasonal change have contributed to the leaf activity. I’ve also noticed unripe pecans on the ground among the dry leaves.
