Prior to the regular meeting, a Public Hearing was held on an ordinance to amend the 2026 Annual Operating Budget for the Washington Parish Government. The Franklinton Demons football team fought a good fight but came on the short end of a 14-3 score last week against Mandeville in the Mandeville Jamboree. The Demons will play the Amite Warriors this week at home in a non-district game. Last week Amite defeated Bogalusa in their jamboree 28-0.

Bowling Green’s trip to Wayne Academy in Miussissippi last Friday didn’t go well. The Bucs fell 38-0 as they suffered some injuries and plenty of penalty flags were thrown against Wayne.

Independence is in year two of a rebuild and while they have improved, they aren't there yet. Bogalusa struggled late in their jamboree game with Amite due to the Warriors wearing them down.
