Here we are again 🏆 Bringing home another Emmy 🏆

It’s an incredible honor to win our second Capital Emmy, this time for our short documentary with Phoenix Recovery Academy ()📹🎓

This project was more than a film. It was a powerful story of resilience, recovery, and real impact. We’re endlessly grateful to the team at Phoenix for trusting us with your voice, your mission, and your story.

To our entire 88Visual crew .productions - you showed up with heart, excellence, and commitment. You made this happen!

Special thanks to Cherry Graziosi and Pete Raumann for your unwavering support and belief in this story. The work being done at Phoenix is changing lives, and it was our privilege to help amplify that message.

This win isn’t just a trophy, it’s a reminder that when you lead with purpose and stay aligned with your why, big things follow. We do this work because we care. Because storytelling changes people. And because voices like these deserve to be heard.

We’re just getting started.

We recently filmed at Second Chances Garage (), where there’s a team that’s helping people get back on the road, literally.

They take donated vehicles, fully refurbish them, and provide them to community members who need a second chance. Whether it’s a single parent trying to get to work, someone navigating life with a disability, or a neighbor going through a tough season, this garage is changing lives one set of keys at a time 🗝️

This is why we do what we do! Spotlighting purpose and amplifying missions, because this is what stepping up for each other looks like, and it deserves to be seen!

As Black History Month comes to a close, we honor those shaping the future. Our latest mini-documentary 🎥 follows Gayon M. Sampson, Senior Adviser to Michael O'Connor, Mayor of Frederick, as he navigates the challenges and triumphs of being a young Black leader in Frederick. In a time of deep division, his story is one of resilience, hope, and the fight for meaningful change. 🤎

We’re also proud to celebrate Gayon’s well-deserved recognition this year as an inductee in Frederick’s 3rd Annual African Americans of Excellence exhibit. ✊🏿✊🏾✊🏽

Watch. Reflect. Share. Let’s continue the work.

Gary Rollins's journey exemplifies a powerful intersection of community need, personal passion, and a commitment to innovation. His recognition of the absence of a funeral home primarily serving African Americans in Frederick led him to embark on a mission to fill that gap. Despite the challenges and obstacles he faced, including years of military service and the need to save money for equipment, Rollins persisted in his endeavor.

Starting out in borrowed space at Asbury United Methodist Church, Rollins gradually expanded his operations, eventually establishing the Gary L. Rollins Funeral Home and later transitioning to the modern and purpose-built Life Celebration Center. His vision went beyond traditional funeral services; he aimed to create redemptive and uplifting experiences for grieving families, a refreshing approach in the industry.

Moreover, Rollins's collaboration with his wife, Dr. Denise Hall Brown Rollins, to offer grief counseling and support through the Whole Heart Grief & Life Resource Center underscores their commitment to holistic care for their clients. By extending support beyond the funeral service, they provide a space for healing that transcends the conventional role of a funeral home.

Rollins's deep roots in Frederick, combined with his mother's example of community service, further drive his dedication to honoring the past while embracing positive change. The Life Celebration Center not only serves as a testament to Rollins's entrepreneurial spirit but also as a hub for preserving local history and supporting the community's emotional well-being. We caught a glimpse in the 88 Visual lens.
