I knew my mom wouldn’t be here to meet my babies. I don’t think I understood that meant she wouldn’t be here to meet me as a mom, either.

There are so many times I want to pick up the phone and ask her a question. Tell her something funny they did. Ask if I was like this as a baby. Or just hear her tell me I’m doing okay.

Becoming a mom without my mom has been one of the most beautiful—and heartbreaking—parts of grief. 🤍
