Since 1921, Maison Collet has been creating distinctive champagnes that appeal to a clientele of demanding wine connoisseurs in search of authentic, elegant, and refined champagnes. Established in Aÿ, in the heart of the Champagne region, Maison Collet uses primarily Premier and Grand Crus in its wines to reflect the diversity of the Champagne terroirs. Champagne Collet is a gastronomic wine. Every cuvée has been created to complement various fine dining and fine drinking experiences, whether served as an aperitif or paired with the most sophisticated dishes.
A rare assemblage of 11 Premier and Grand Crus was selected in 2012. 60% Chardonnay from Grands Crus villages like Avize, Chouilly, and Cramant contributes to the freshness, tonicity, and elegance of the Esprit Couture. Vinification and aging of the Chardonnay in champenois oak barrels allowed their brioche aromas to develop fully. 40% Pinot Noir brings structure, softness, and tenderness to the wine through iconic Grands Crus such as Aÿ, Mailly- Champagne, or Verzy.
Appearance
Luminous, fairly fluid, deep yellow-green color with deep lemon-yellow highlights.
Nose
The first nose elegantly and distinctly recalls notes of butter, grilled hazelnut, cardamom, lime, and verbena. When aerated, Champagne reveals notes of apricot, blackcurrant, plum, and biscuit, with accents of nougat, pineapple, and toasted bread.
Palate
The contact on the palate is supple, fresh, and fruity, sustained by an acidity-rekindling of lemon. The middle mouth is orchestrated by chalky minerality that provides frankness and saltiness. Fruit and mineral matters are finely stitched and are carried by suppleness with the aroma of citrus, exotic fruit. The finish is melted and sticks to the palate with a silky and light cloth.
