Every Tuesday and Friday for the last 12 years, Julie Brinkman, a 1988 graduate of Hood College, gives her time to the residents in Edenton Retirement Community’s Dementia Care Unit, Blossom Place. You are all invited to another wonderful summer evening at the AOPA Hangar - Free movie night - chairs, drinks, hot dogs and popcorn provided and so much more.

This Saturday Aug. 15th we invite the public to visit AOPA’s National Aviation Community Center. This is a gateway event that affords the public an opportunity to visit the airport and remove the fences that separate them from general aviation. It is a very casual setting with lots of fun. We open the doors at 6pm with aircraft that they have access to, the kids can fly the J simulators. The FMX is available for the older group. The movie this week is Disney’s “Planes 2” beginning at 7pm. Free sodas, lemonade, hot dogs, popcorn etc. Very rewarding experience for all.

This Saturday Aug. 15th we will also have a very special visitor helping to share the excitement of aviation, Turbo the Flying Dog and his human, FDK airport locals who have published 2 children’s books will be joining us.
