Hello Everyone,

It’s been a while and a lot has happened. The family is currently in the Philippines and we are blessed to be surrounded by family and community. How are you all doing?

I spent my whole day digging on what is really going on diha sa pinas that I intentionally set aside my studies just to do this research. I want all of you to know na valid na magpanic but I also want all of you to be informed. This might be a little long, but hopefully you will take the time to read this.

For disclaimer, I am not any pro this or pro that party list. I just want my people to act without panicking.

Pero atong isulti ang tinuod: this is not just a fuel story. This is an economics story.

So naa bay gibuhat ang gobyerno? Yes, naa. Nagdeklara sila ug state of national energy emergency kaniadtong March 24–25, 2026, unya nagpagawas ug ₱20 billion emergency fund para palig-onon ang fuel security. Naghimo pud sila ug measures batok sa hoarding, profiteering, ug supply manipulation. Naa pud cash aid for some transport workers, free rides sa pipila ka areas, ug efforts to look for other fuel sources. So dili sakto nga moingon ta nga “walay gibuhat.”

Naa gyud siyay basihan. Pero at the same time, panic buying will only make a bad situation worse.

And here’s the hardest truth: bisan unsaon pa ug ayuda, fare freeze, o temporary tax relief, dili na nila ma-control ang world oil price. Mao pud siguro nga ang BSP nagbantay kaayo sa inflation pero wala dayon nisaka ug rates sa ilang unscheduled review on March 26, because this is a supply shock, not just a spending problem. Dili man nimo ma-interest-rate ang gyera.

So unsay lesson ani para nato? Dili ta dapat magpataka ug panic, pero dili pud ta dapat magpaka-butaw. This crisis is real. Pero this crisis is also exposing something dugay na nato nga weakness: sobra ta ka-dependent sa imported fuel. Ug hangtod dili ta seryoso sa stronger energy planning, renewables, better public transport, ug better logistics, every global conflict mahimong problema sa kusina, pamasahe, ug bill sa ordinaryong Pilipino.

Mao ni ang bottom line:
dili ni chismis, dili ni overreaction, ug dili pud ni end of the world.
This is a real economic shock.
And the best thing we can do is stay calm, stay informed, and demand real solutions, dili lang temporary band-aid.

To the President and all government officials,

This fuel crisis is not just about oil. It is about the daily lives of the Filipino people.

Every increase in fuel prices affects transportation, food, electricity, small businesses, and the ability of ordinary families to survive. The burden does not fall equally. It falls first and hardest on jeepney drivers, delivery riders, farmers, fisherfolk, workers, and mothers trying to stretch a budget that is already not enough.

This is the time for leadership that is calm, honest, and decisive.

We ask you to do more than issue statements. We ask you to act with urgency and wisdom. Secure stable fuel supply. Protect the most affected sectors. Stop hoarding and price manipulation. Strengthen public transportation. Support food producers. And most importantly, use this crisis as a turning point to build a more secure energy future for the Philippines.

Our country cannot keep living one crisis at a time. We need long-term solutions, not only temporary relief. We need energy policies built on transparency, preparation, and national interest, not corruption, delay, or politics.

The Filipino people are resilient, but resilience should not be abused. People should not have to carry the full weight of every global crisis while waiting for meaningful action from those in power.

This is your moment to lead with integrity and vision.
Not only for today, but for the future of every Filipino family.

The people do not only need reassurance. They need a real plan, real protection, and real results.

Postpartum changed my body, and sometimes it changed the way I see myself too.
But I’m choosing to be kinder to myself.
Because this body is not ruined — it is loved, it is strong, and it carries a story worth honoring. 🌷✨
