Johnny P. Johnson was more than an artist. He was an educator, mentor, activist, and visionary whose work left a lasting impact on Fredericksburg’s Black arts community.

This weekend, his legacy will be honored at the Harambee 360° Black Arts Festival with a LIVE AUCTION featuring an original Johnny P. Johnson watercolor — a special opportunity for a collector or investor to own a piece of Fredericksburg history.

The weekend kicks off Friday, September 25th at Market Square in downtown Fredericksburg with The Don Brown Project bringing jazz, blues and funk to the stage! 🎷🎶

💜🩵 REBOOT WITH JUJU — A DAY OF REMEMBRANCE, HOPE & PURPOSE 🩵💜

Yesterday, Black Fredericksburg Radio had the honor of being on-site for the 2nd Annual Reboot With Juju Su***de Prevention 5K, presented by The Forsythe Foundation – Reboot With JuJu.

At the heart of this mission is JuJu’s mom, Saresa Baker, who turned the unimaginable loss of her son, Jawuan “JuJu” Booker, into a purpose-driven effort focused on mental health awareness, su***de prevention, community outreach and helping families find support.

What we witnessed was bigger than a 5K. It was a community coming together to remember, heal, talk openly, support one another and remind people that they do not have to struggle alone. 💜 Every step honored a life. Every conversation mattered.
