🌈🐔 Chick-fil-A, Pride Month, Principles & Mac and Cheese

So let me ask a real question…

Do you believe consumers should spend money based on convenience and enjoyment…

Or based on values and principles?

Because every June, every election cycle, and every major social issue seems to bring us back to the same conversation.

Companies tell us where they stand.

Consumers tell companies where THEY stand.

And everybody suddenly becomes a philosopher while eating chicken sandwiches.

😂

Here’s where I struggle.

I don’t think respect requires agreement.

I don’t think every person has to celebrate every movement.

But I also think there is something incredibly interesting about the companies and public figures who suddenly become very vocal about “values” while remaining silent about racism, misogyny, abuse, exploitation, or other issues that impact real people every day.

That’s where I start side-eyeing folks.

Because principles aren’t really principles if they only show up when it’s convenient.

And before anybody asks…

No.

This is not me pretending I’m above it all.

I am fully aware that Chick-fil-A’s mac and cheese has me in a toxic relationship. 😩😂

The struggle is real.

But it does make me think:

👉 Should consumers pay more attention to where their money goes?

👉 Is it possible to separate a product from the company behind it?

👉 Where do YOU draw the line?

The older I get, the more I think about where my money goes.

Then Chick-fil-A’s mac and cheese enters the chat and suddenly my principles need prayer. 😩😂

Issues like voting rights, Medicare, Social Security, Medicaid, criminal justice reform, immigration, protection
against police brutality, and life sustaining programs for low income citizens will not be protected unless we all
vote

We’ve come a long way since the terror-filled years of the 1960s, but we still have a long way to go since
bigotry still raises its ugly head daily. We need to be vigilant to prevent returning to those days when an
individual was judged by the color of their skin rather than by their character.

Every person is created in the image of God and deserve to have their vote
protected.
