🌀 NEW JERSEY WEATHER UPDATE 🌀
The 2026 Atlantic hurricane season officially began on June 1, and forecasters with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) are currently predicting a below-normal season overall. 🌊⛈️
Current projections call for 8 to 14 named storms, with 3 to 6 hurricanes, including 1 to 3 major hurricanes reaching Category 3 strength or higher. Weather experts say developing El Niño conditions could help limit tropical activity this year, but they stress that it only takes one storm to have a significant impact on communities along the East Coast.
⚠️ While the seasonal outlook suggests fewer storms than average, it is not a prediction of where storms will make landfall. New Jersey residents are encouraged to review emergency plans, prepare hurricane kits, and stay informed as peak hurricane season approaches later this summer and early fall.
Stay prepared, stay alert, and don’t wait until a storm is on the doorstep to make a plan. 🏠📻🔋
