My boy went to the LPGA Chevron Championship in Houston got a chance to meet one of the best to do it, and got himself a little memento for the occasion.

The technology tho....

From 1907 to 1935, the putting surfaces at Pinehurst No. 2 were a mix of used motor oil and sand.

In 1936 for the PGA TOUR Champions they transitioned to bent grass.

Following the 2014 U.S. Open Championship, it was changed to ultradwarf bermudagrass.
