“The Weekly Spotlight🔦”

Here’s how my interview with Mor-A-Les BBQ owner Jake Morales went..🥁

* Why did you decide to start your own business?
- I got the love for cooking in 2005 when I barbecued at Muy Grande (original building), finally hung up the welding hood and picked up the apron.

* What was your mission at the start of your company?
- To put out good different food to Freer and surrounding areas and to hopefully modernize BBQ while trying to keep it close to a traditional Texas style.

* What are your company's goals?
- to someday be featured in Texas Monthly Magazine: Top 50 BBQ joints.

* What is the hardest part of being a business owner?
- maintaining regular hours while making time to do 12-14 hr cooks.

* What motivates you?
- my wife and kids

* If you can give a new business owner a piece of advice, what would it be?
- keep moving forward no matter the amount of adversity that comes your way. ALWAYS PRAY. GOD IS GOOD!
