Today’s classmate Spotlight is for Jacque Michel…

Jacque attended Fresno State upon graduation, earning her Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, graduating in 1980. Shortly before graduating, she and Rick Miller (1974) were married in Fresno on August 18, 1979. Jacque quickly passed the California Nursing Boards and began working as a Registered Nurse at Valley Children's Hospital. In May 1984, she gave birth to their first child, Steven Edward Miller. In that same year, Rick was promoted, and much to the dismay of their parents, they relocated to Boston, MA.

As good fortune would have it, Rick's promotional opportunities brought them back to California. In June 1989, Sarah Elizabeth Miller was born. It was a blessing that Jacque could stay home and raise the kids. Since returning to California, Rick's promotional opportunities over the years have allowed them to live in Fresno, Thousand Oaks, San Ramon and Danville.

In 2001, Jacque put her nursing degree to work as a Nurse Case Manager. She worked for several major companies, helping their injured employees return to work. She officially retired in 2024. Rick retired as Assistant Vice President at Sedgwick early this year. Rick and Jacque retired to their vacation home in Sparks, NV, in 2025.

Thank you for sharing with us, Jacque! 🧡🖤🧡🖤🧡

Say hello to our classmate, Jennie Mahan Nall….

Here it goes - my adventures! I married young to Martin and had one son, Martin Paul. In the summer of 1975, we moved to Crane, Texas - west Texas oil field country, then moved to Odessa Tx during the oil boom. Jack rabbit capitol! Next, we moved to Carlsbad, NM, where the Carlsbad Caverns are (one of the wonders of the world). A tornado crashed the rig my husband worked on. Time to go again. Went to live in Conway Arkansas, up and down the Piney woods where Poke Salad grows wild. People were friendly and humble. Stayed a few years, then a long road trip to Wenatchee, Washington - apple capitol. We lived on a farm and could see the Columbia River and Cascade Mts. Beautiful scenery. Time to move again to Midland, Texas. This is when I got my divorce!! I worked as a cashier and took care of myself and my son. I was there during the Urban Cowboy fad. Two stepped. 10 stepped!! Went to Gilley’s in Houston and to Billy Bob’s in Fort Worth. It was time to go home to my roots in the Central Valley. I got my Barber and Cosmetology license and worked in Fresno. Later, I met my husband, Blaine, and we moved to SF Bay Area during the tech boom. We lived there 29 yrs and experienced different cultures.
We enjoyed musicals, operas, museums, concerts, and meeting people from all over the globe. Recently when Covid started up, we moved to Clovis. Then in 2023 my only son Martin passed. The grief and sadness left me empty inside. I needed to stay busy to cope. I work in Burlingame, in the Bay Area 2 times a month. I also work Trade Shows that consist of traveling to Long Beach, San Diego, Anaheim, Florida staging booths and helping with the exhibits. The show must go on! Non-stop absolutely slammed! Go! Go! Go! It has its perks and rewards. I flew to New Zealand to work, then on to Melbourne,
Australia, to explore a new city and get familiarized and get to work right away! Then off to the Bush, down and under! It was remote and off the grid with Kangaroos, Wallabies, Koalas, venomous snakes, infested waters of Crocodiles, and cathedral mounds of termites. Then go back to town and it’s on the menu. I walked amongst the Aborigines, Aussies, and Kiwis - keeping my sanity and glad to be American! Sidney was another chapter but I did see the Opera House. I then traveled to Munich, Germany. Besides working a Trade Show there, I decided I had time to tour. Went to Neuschwanstein Castle. Disney was inspired and built the Magical Castles. Went to Dachau N**i concentration camp. Emotionally sad. Then to Salzburg, Austria, where they filmed the Sound of Music! Then, back to Clovis. I country line dance 2 times a week and I like to go with my husband to shoot S***t and Trap! Sporting Clays course. We like to go hunting and gold panning. That’s my journey of worldly experiences. I am grateful of healing, friendships, happiness, peace and good health - and all the blessings the Lord has given me. I am Thankful!

Thank you my sharing your life with us, Jennie! 🖤🧡🖤🧡

Say hello to our classmate, Craig (Rocky) Armitage!

Rocky didn’t have a senior picture in the yearbook because he transferred to Central High the summer before senior year. Rocky enjoyed a 43-year career as a Farrier, retiring in 2014. The picture is the last shoe on the last horse. He moved to Tuolumne County in 1987, has 2 sons and 2 grandchildren. He’s been married to his second wife since 2008. He now builds saddles and does leatherwork, but there’s nothing he likes better than being on a good horse in the back country. Thank you for sharing your life with us, Rocky!!
