The Vertical Vlog

The Vertical Vlog www.theverticalvlog.com is designed to be the leading resource for information in the vertical video world. The answer is yes!

When Instagram reported in April 2017 that it hit 200,000,000 daily Instagram Stories users I was blown away. That's 400,000,000 eyeballs consuming photos and, more importantly, videos every 24 hours! As a cinematographer and filmmaker this is game-changing. The modern day mobile phone has literally changed the orientation of moving pictures just by its inherent design. How can we, as a filmmaking community, capitalize on this vertical attention space right now? Shouldn't we adapt to the platforms that house all the attention? Shouldn't we awkwardly shoot video vertically on our high end cinema cameras?
