🇺🇸 FROM THE LOCKDOWNS TO TODAY — STANDING FOR WHAT YOU BELIEVE IN.

Professor Angel “Halo” Lopez, owner of Halo Jiu Jitsu, had the opportunity to attend Ben Bergquam’s book signing at Warrior Fitness in Fresno for his new book, Step Into Fear.

Angel and Ben’s friendship goes back to one of the most uncertain times for small businesses in our community — the COVID-19 lockdowns.

When businesses across California were being ordered to shut their doors, Halo Jiu Jitsu made the decision to stand its ground and remain open. During that fight, Ben Bergquam of Frontline America came alongside Halo and other local businesses, covering what was happening and standing with business owners fighting for their right to work, operate their businesses, and make their own choices.

That’s where Angel and Ben first met.

Years later, it was great to reconnect right here in Fresno and support Ben as he begins a new chapter with the release of Step Into Fear: A Journey from Addiction to Courage and Purpose — a story of faith, redemption, courage, and facing fear head-on.

Congratulations, Ben, on the new book, and thank you for remembering the small businesses and people you stood beside when times were anything but easy.
