Happy Mothers Day to all the mamas out there! I’m sorry I haven’t posted anything meaningful or Hypoxia related lately.
I’ve been trying to heal from Chronic Illness and pretend none of these traumatic health issues have been going on. I got screamed, and verbally abused for a few months over how much I talked about my health, so I’ve been trying not to.
I wanted to check in with my Hypoxic Homies, how’s everyone doing? What are you up to? Are you new here?
I’m using oxygen every night when I sleep, and when I hike up hill, or feel exerted, I still use oxygen. I live at 9300 in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. My passion is getting people outdoors, showing them how to camp, hike, go off roading and all the adventures! I started Always Choose Adventures (ACA) 10 years ago, it’s now a 501c3 nonprofit. We have a great team of board members and volunteers that donate their time to make our mission possible. We help anyone who’s disabled or disadvantaged access the outdoors, and we have a campground in Idaho Springs with Extreme Motus off-road wheelchairs, that one of my best friends, Jim Bishop, Castle Builder helped us acquire. Yesterday Jim’s son, Dan came to visit my “Castle” and it was pure serotonin. He told me he wakes up everyday and does what god tells him to do. That’s what prompted my post today.
I know I have a lot more Hypoxic homies than I thought… one of my many jobs is working at Summit Oxygen in Frisco, Colorado. I have learned that most people in Colorado are hypoxic, and just don’t know it! I’ve helped over 36 people get on oxygen the last year, it helps support your brain, heart and overall wellbeing while living at altitude, which is considered anything over 4,000 feet!
I’m stoked for this summer at our campground, we also have an oxygen bar we just setup, so come on up to 9300 feet, and see if you’re a homie, too!
